She said on TWiT the other week that they sold $250,000 worth of the app in the first month. I'd guess they're feeling pretty stupid at the amount of revenue they've lost by trying to tweak the nose of Apple's Developer Agreement right now... Whether you agree with the T&C or not, jeopardising that revenue stream for the sake of an easter egg rates as one of the most stupid business decisions I've seen recently.

It's hard to know exactly what they were thinking by leaving the feature in, then briefly tweeting that it existed. By doing that, it shows that it wasn't purely a case of accidentally leaving the code in.

Regardless, I wish they'd own up and say something to the community. I really like the app, so I'd like to know if they're going to be able to set things straight with Apple, or if I'll have to eventually abandon it and find something else to use as a replacement.

Have you uploaded them to Picasa Web Albums? if not, do so from the Picasa application.

In Picasa web albums click on the picture that you want to post. On the right you will see a link that says "Link to this photo". Click on it. Then you will see two boxes with links in them. Under those there are two check boxes. Check the box that says "Image Only (no link). Then select the size that you want from the drop down above the check boxes (probably 640, but it's up to you. Then, click in the box labeled Embed Image and copy that link.

Then, in your post here click the insert image icon (
insertimage.gif
) above the text box where you type your message and paste the stuff from Picasa Web Albums and click OK. Depending on your browser you will either see the picture of a set of IMG tags. If you click on preview post below you will see the image.

Had to scale some down to upload on here.

I think they used to call it a textingmachine or typewriter or something. Apparently, primitive humans used to use it to, get this, write novels on and report the news! Crazy! ;)

And as they used to say on Monty Python, "and now for something completely different..."

I discovered a new app called Percolator that takes a photo from your library and applies a color-based, circle-packing algorithm to your photo, the results of which are this:

Gives your photos sort of a modern version of a 60s pop-art type of vibe. Just a nice little bit of fun for a change. You can see more of these photos and the originals they are based on at my Flickr page.

Percolator is a great app. Thanks for the tip!:D

You have some great photos! Thanks for sharing. Please post more when you get the chance.:)

Thanks! I felt like maybe I was posting too much, so I'm trying to scale it back a bit...

:) I discovered another crazy app called PhotoTropedelic which is great fun for more of a psychedelic vibe:

Now that I got the fun crazy stuff out of my system, I will be going back to my more traditional black & white photography... maybe (darn iPhone and all of it's cool crazy apps! ;) )

Those two apps look impressive (Percolator and Phototropedelic). I'm going to play with them tonight.

No posts since yesterday afternoon? Here is a test of the above two apps. I used a picture I think already posted in the thread once as a comparison. You can get pretty cool effects from both of them. I'm impressed.

Wow, Really?

Nobody ever takes the time to read any more...

I'm surprised by how many people seem to love Camera+. I find it frustrating to use, and I switched to ProCamera instead (for shooting. I use other apps for editing).

I'm hoping the people at Camera+ will fix a few things before they resubmit the app to the app store because some aspects of the app are a mess.

Am I the only one who hates having a lightbox? If I'm shooting with various apps, the last thing I want to do is keep track of a ton of shots in different places. Just add them to the camera roll! God, the lightbox annoys me. At the very least, there should be a menu option to save straight to the camera roll. Or, another way to improve this situation would be an option to automatically transfer all photos from the lightbox to the camera roll when closing the app.

Then again, adding anything to the menu is going to be annoying since camera+ limits the menu to that tiny bit of screen. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Yikes.

The anti-shake feature is completely messed up. Place your iphone on a solid surface so you know it's absolutely still. This is easy with an iPhone 4. Just stand it on its side and take a shot. Since the camera is ABSOLUTELY still, Camera+ should take the shot. INSTEAD, Camera+ starts a three second countdown as the silly anti-shake icon changes colors even though the camera is perfectly still. In other words, what they did was COMBINE anti-shake with a countdown timer that kicks in after anti-shake says the camera is steady. If you move at all during this countdown, anti-shake detects that the camera isn't steady. Then, when it is steady again, instead of taking the shot, the countdown begins and the icon starts changing colors.

Anti-shake is an awesome feature.
A countdown timer is an awesome feature.
Combining them into one thing defeats the purpose of each.

I really, really want to love this app, but I get so annoyed with it that I shoot with other apps instead.

What?

You can either take a picture or pick one from your camera roll to load into Camera+. They will be put into your light box, you can edit each individual picture and you can save them all to your camera roll at once with the "Save All" button. It's not really a big hassle. You can edit as many pics as you want and click Save All...done.

And I don't see what the big deal is for the menu. You can see all of the options and turn the options on/off from this little screen. It's not like it's hard to read.

@goodgnus Sometimes, some people have a mental block about the way certain things work. I had this with another app awhile back that I just couldn't wrap my head around until someone showed me one little thing and all of a sudden it made sense and turned out to be my favorite app once I got use to it...

Usually, I think someone who creates an account just to post one angry rant is simply being a troll, but giving you the benefit of the doubt, maybe you just need to work with Camera+ a little bit more to get use to the workflow of it. It really isn't that difficult or annoying to me or most people it seems. I only ever have a couple of photos in the Lightbox; which is meant for the photos you are currently working on within the app. Once you are done working on them, just hit save and it immediately saves it to your camera roll and deletes it from your [working] Lightbox... don't see how it is that difficult or annoying. Give it another chance or two and maybe you'll get the flow of it!

Anyway, some pics from today. Nothing too exciting (wasn't feeling very inspired today) just wanted to get something out...

(I was being randomly yelled at by a crazy homeless person, so I took a picture, Bruce Gilden style, to see if it would get them to back down... it didn't.)

Questions...

Just got Hipstamatic last night and looks cool; but disappointed that the image size is so small.

Was thinking about Camera+, but heard that it was pulled for the volume shutter release. Is Camera Plus Pro the same app with the ability to enable the use of the volume control as a shutter release?
