Unfortunately there are no HP TC 1100's for sale on eBay at the moment, but there is a lovelyHP TC 1000 with a current high bid of $61.

It features "a 1Ghz processor with 500MB of Ram and a 55Gb Hard Drive with 48Gb free.. It has Office 2003 standard installed Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook installed It also has Freecell, Hearts, Minesweeper, Pinball and Solitaire installed and a couple more games installed.. The battery life is questionable though".

This is the perfect opportunity for those not fooled by the iPad hype to pick up their dream machine!

You're just a foolin' with us aren't you, aren't you?

it has 5 (maybe 8 games)?
At $61.00 it's a steal - go for it man.

Unfortunately for those of us sucked in by the Apple hype, we'll have to wait for the iPad - dammit!

Humans
Year: since ancient history

It might have been even before that.

Size: up to 2 metres in length

That's now. Only a century ago it was more like 1.6m in average

Sound: annoying

Not me.

USB: in the ass

I haven't tried that.

SD card slot: none

I did try that, it goes into there.

PC card: none

That, too.

Headphone plug: none

Easily!

And believe it or not, even with those specs humans are "the world's best product ever" with "over 6 billion humans in use today!"

There are some really useless ones out there!

1. Everyone knows 1st gen Apple products are the most watered down

But that much? It's 7 (!) years! Of course, I understand that the first one was modelled on a computer and the second one on an iPod Touch.

As evidenced by iPhone 3GS, iDevices don't need excessive processing speed or RAM to run fast. In fact, the iPad is almost TWICE as fast the 3GS, and it can only go higher, especially if multitasking comes into play in 4.0. Oh and Apple A4 > 1 GHz Pentium

If the 3GS proves anything, IT IS that processing power matters. Otherwise why didn't Apple change a lot of other things on it?

iPad's display > this display

There are matte/anti-glare and e-ink screens that might work for a tablet better.

And it does VGA out.

Yeah, but the iPad DOESN'T do HDMI. And HDMI is just better than VGA. :)
