between flesh and thought
I am trying to use the natural tb2 cables on my thunderbolt displays, but I want to place my mac farther then the cable allows. I am also already using the additional tb2 ports on both displays so a long tb2 cable is not a solutuion as those additional ports are occupied. I would love to get a couple usb c "thunderbolt" extension cables I see on amazon, but I have a feeling it won't work, but maybe?

If the cables are passive and are good quality (can support USB 3.1 gen 2), then it might work. Thunderbolt 2 is only 10 Gbps per line (2 lines in each direction).
