Ive got the below 128Gb MBA:

& Ive got 2 of these 480Gb HyperX Predator PCIe SSDs:

Just wanted to confirm that the actuall SSD will work (with adapter of course) with my MBA?
The read speeds are good, but it seems that the write speeds are a little slower than the stock SSD according to OWC:

While I'd much prefer something newer/faster/bigger, I dont have the money for it & as I mentioned before, I have 2 of these things laying around...

I don't see why not. The 2015 to 2017 Air's had upgradable SSDs according to a quick Google. I replaced my sisters 128GB SSD with a generic m.2 SSD with an adapter and it worked without issue.

Check out first page of this thread.. It's THE general guide on this.

It gives known SSDs for different models etc and adapters for such. See my sig. I've got same as you but only i5. Wish this was the i7... Read that post first page for more info. Over 300 pages with even more info and experience. All I can say is give it a shot. I recommend the actual Syntech short adapter.
