I actually called and talked to 2wire support, and they told me that qwest updated the modem on qwest's end, and that it was firmware that 2wire would not support anymore. They will not support it because it was not a firmware update that 2 wire would support. I used this angle to get qwest to pay for a new modem. How can you use a modem that qwest or 2wire will not support. That is unaccpetable IMO. Call 2wire and start a ticket and then present it to qwest and then see what happens. Also see the link below. This is a thread I started at Qwest, and should help in your problem.

One of the things I did state to Qwest is that this problem did not exist prior to the firmware update, and since I had purchased the modem, the option to update the firmware rested with me, not them. Therefore, they needed to roll me back to the old firmware, or change my modem. Throwing out the words Comcast, cable internet, or FIOS don't hurt either.
