If your laptop is an Apple Emate maybe. :)

I was pretty impressed when I started working with people with blackberries and they could take calls, send mails, and even read attachments from anywhere. But they all still had to fire up the laptop to send their TPS reports with the new cover sheets.

as has been mentioned, i use my ibook to supplement my "desk top" macbook (it's strange, i know). but on my ibook, i do nothing more than internet, music and video playback. so yeah, i think the iphone could possibly replace my ibook. throw in ichat, and i most likely would.

For email and the Web, a laptop cannot replace an iPhone.

I am referring of course to the 90% of my life where lugging a laptop is impossible :) During those times, not only CAN an iPhone replace a laptop, it MUST or I have nothing!
