Can the original Airpods Pro volume be adjusted by swiping the touch control on them?

I have read that you can adjust the Airpods volume by swiping on the touch control, but it doesn’t work on my original Airpods pro. Is this something that is only available to do on the 2nd generation?

The original AirPods Pro don't support swiping. The controls are only force sensors (i.e., buttons).
