I'm a big fan of the small ipod design. I have never liked using my phone (Android user) for listening to music.

I use my ipod Nano every day. It's easy to use, fits in my pocket, good for the gym and so forth. I'm sure there are many like me.

I preferred by 6th Gen to this 7th gen but the screen cracked on my 6th.

I just want something in between those two but with way more memory. Way more memory. 16 gig isn't enough. 32 minimum but 64 would be amazing!

The 7th Gen is a form factor that was begging for more functionality. There is no reason to have such a big screen with out adding anything. If there was more memory it'd have made sense. I think that was a misstep. They need to now go, everyone has a phone to do everything else. Ipod should just be about music.

Just gonna rip the band-aid off and say that I don't think there will be any new iPods this year (including the iPod touch) and if there arnt any new iPods released this year then I think it's officially the death of the ipod lineup. We already shamefully saw the Classic get thrown at a brick wall by Apple without mention of its discontinuation at the keynote. And there weren't any new iPods at the keynote... If there's an October event, that would be the best bet in my opinion for some new iPods. But as it looks now...Apple will let them serve their purpose for a year or two more before pulling the plug. :( :-(

I'm still hoping for a refresh this year of the touch. Someone in another thread had a valid point - schools that teach programming of the iOS language generally buy touches for students to test on. And as has already been pointed out, Apple still makes over half-a-billion in profit from them. I'm not sure any shareholder would be happy with that being wiped off the account sheet. I will agree with you when it comes to release dates though - if we don't see it in October then we won't see one at all. Only a few more weeks to see this through!
