Can you download a file from Dropbox on your android phone?

No. I've even downloaded zip files and unzipped them right on my Nexus 7. Can't do that on iOS.

To view and unzip a file from drop box on iOS:
Download ZipFile Viewer (free) from the app store.
open the zip file in dropbox, after the "unable to view file" message appears, tap the bottom right icon that looks like an arrow pointing down, then select "open in ZipFileViewer" from the pop up menu, and voila. You have now downloaded and unzipped a file from dropbox on iOS.
