I know it’s probably partly just the coffee in my stomach I just drank, but there’s definitely something about 15 for me.

My hype comes from
1. USB-C. 1 cable for travels, no adapter for SSD, faster SSD import speeds.
2. Belief Apple will have fixed smart HDR and won’t overexpose object in photos with lighting source behind the object (never had 14, but stolen 13 Pro did it)
3. Slightly bigger battery
4. More iPhone 6/X/11 Pro "pebble" feel in hands
5. One in a million chance Apple will release it in green

I came to the iPhone forums specifically to look for this type of post. 🤣 So yes, definitely feeling the hype. I've already been looking forward to it more than usual this cycle, but I think the fact that it's about to be August, meaning the new devices are likely only about 6 weeks away really got me excited. Is it bad I'm already ready for @TheYayAreaLiving 🎗️'s iPhone 15 pre-order thread? 😳

There's no specific feature I'm really excited about, it's more just the collection of features that add up. USB-C will be great step for towards only needing 1-2 types of cables and hopefully to connect my DAC to my iPhone. Camera improvements and periscope lens will be nice. I'm hoping for a HEIC 48MP mode. I'm excited for the reduced bezels, slightly rounder titanium frame, slightly reduced physical size, and to see what new color is coming. I'm hoping it feels better in the hand. I'm excited for the performance and connectivity improvements from the 3nm A17, 8GB of RAM, and Qualcomm X70. The A17, Qualcomm X70, LiDAR Scanner, Ultra Wideband chip, and display driver are all supposed to be more efficient too, so I'm hoping for big battery life gains. The increased battery capacity rumors seemed to have been very sketchy and unreliable so far, but I'm hoping those are true.

I have a usb-c headphone at work in the office - can’t wait the day when i plug in those stealthy to my iphone to fake that i am in the meeting all day while listening to music.

So i have a 13 mini and im upgrading it to 15 plus or PM.

I think the only thing i find attractive about Pro Max is the Promotion feature. But i suppose i could forsake it for the sake of comfortability having a lighter phone yet having something bigger and larger battery.

The 15 PM will be just like the 14 PM with USB C and a telephoto lens. The weight difference will be slight just like the increased battery capacity.

It is past time. I charge my iPad and Mac with USB-C. It would be nice when traveling to have the option to charge my iPhone with that as well.

USB C is more hype than reality IMO. I can barely manage with one cable for my iPad Pro and mac on road. I travel quite a lot, most of the guys I work with are not carrying one cable while traveling.
I have a 13 PM, probably I will upgrade to iPhone 19. Hopefully there is more to it than a USB C connector.

USB-C is all hype. It's just a charging interface. And who carries only one cable while traveling? If the cable breaks or you'd like to charge more than one device, you're hooped. I think the users who would take legitimate advantage of USB-C are ProRes video users.

The real winner this year is the iPhone 15/Plus. It gets the 48MP sensor and the pill. The Pro/Max gets A17 and 8GB RAM. Longer telephoto is nice but kinda meh.

I feel it... well as much as someone who's not really paying attention can. I just know that it has legitimate camera improvements and USB-C. Either is enough to convince me it's time to move on from my iPhone X.

in my personal opinion, it’s less about having a single cable, and more about not having several different standards in the same ecosystem.
iPhones have lightning. iPads do not. The Mac has USB-C. But their desktop accessories do not.
Going forward, everything is the same, as it should be. It’s clear that Apple has been internally Flip-flopping for several years on what to use going forward, back when they introduced the 12 inch MacBook, and gave a whole presentation about how good USB-C was it seemed like they were preparing to bring it to everything.
Also, years from now, it will finally get rid of the “ but do you have an iPhone charger?” Awkwardness when all phones have the same port. And while I’ve never had an issue with Apple doing things their own proprietary way, their insistence on using Lightning hasn’t provided any benefits in almost a decade.

I could have written “1 less cable with me” but that doesn’t sound that exciting. You’re right about USB-C being advantageous mostly for the pro users, but isn’t that what most MR users are?

Theoretically, if your cable gets broken or lost, you’ll have more luck finding a USB-C one to charge as Android users are twice as many as us and USB-C is used for almost every device made between 7 years ago and today.

One of the advantages of being only USB-C though is you can take multiple cables with you and not have to worry about which one is type C or type A or lightning, and does it connect to this adapter or this battery or this one? As Apple would say: it just works.

Unfortunately, my ideal USB-C world still won’t be a reality when the iPhone goes USB-C because the Apple Watch requires its own charging cable and AirPods still use lightning.

Its August again. Its that time of the year that I get more active on this place in anticipation of the new iPhone. Anyhow I'm ready. On AUP so I'll be getting a 15PM. Looking forward to titanium/usb-c.

I am not upgrading [may happen in 2025 or later] but waiting for the official Apple announcement of changes/upgrades compared to iPhone 14 series and older... Thinking of buying a pre-owned iPhone 12 Pro Max to experience iOS 17 since I am going to stay on iOS 16 on my iPhone 14 Pro Max...
