Waiting on my Mini, still wondering HTF I'm going to charge it. I guess I'll use my Pixel 3 fast charger for the 3 or 4 days I'll actually use the phone before remembering how awful iOS is before returning it. To be fair my IP11Pro lasted a solid 4 months! Just bored w Android for now...

coming from xs max to iphone 12 pro max & im so satisfied that i got it even though its quite heavy i dont mind at all.. camera is also good, there are some apps that you can measure anything which i always use at home and work just by using the camera (lidar).. it will be much more better if fido had 5g wireless cellular data. rogers have 5g already but it depends on the area.

Ordered my blue 12 Pro Max at about 8:30 on launch day, and got it on Friday the 13th in Toronto. Interestingly, it shipped via UPS from "AI" which I presume meant "Apple, Inc." in GTA, but the address listed was not an Apple address. Instead the address was a UPS depot, so I guess they bulk shipped them from China to the UPS depot, and then adjusted the tracking at the depot for the last leg when they shipped them to us end users. I guess this explains why my order was in the "Preparing to Ship" phase for many days.

It's a nice update from my iPhone 7 Plus. The 7 Plus was actually mostly fine but I had started to notice occasional lag starting with iOS 13. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but all that lag is gone with the 12 Pro Max.

Today, in a further twist, my wife received 3 text messages from a local number (for 3 cases that were already shipped), stating the following, and containing a sketchy link that requests credit card information: "Apple delivery notice: Dear (HER NAME), your order has shipped. There is a fee of 3.50$ that requires payment before delivery. To pay, follow: (link)”. The link is a fake, it asks for credit card information as well as date of birth…..

Wondering what is going on with Apple? If their system has been compromised? Has anyone experienced this?

It seems rather strange. We have never had this issue, and wife ordered on her macbook pro (which is not compromised in any way that we know of), and using a secure connection.

I made an account just to reply to this message, as this is the only reference to this I could find in a Google search. It is obviously new.

I ordered something from the Apple store last week, and it was shipped three days ago. It has not yet arrived. Today I received a message to my phone containing a phishing text nearly identical to yours.

"Apple delivery notice: Dear (MY NAME), your order has shipped. There is a fee of 3.60$ that requires payment before delivery." The link is obviously a phishing scam.

I ordered from the real Apple site over a secure connection and using a computer that I am confident is unaffected by malware.

The scammers know:
- my name
- my phone number
- that I ordered something from Apple
- possibly, that this item is out for delivery.

The package is being shipped by UPS. I ordered from the Apple Store in Canada, where I lived.

It seems likely that the breach has occurred either within the Apple Store, or with UPS, who is doing the shipping (and who would have all the above information). I would lean towards a breach at UPS.

Nicois06, does any of this information match with yours? Did Apple ship with UPS, for example? Did the text arrive after UPS would have gotten the package?

May be the wrong forum but I had dinner with a friend last night who had just received her Mini 256gb the day before, ordered from the Apple store (Montreal). Nice little phone, emphasis on "little" (which is a good thing IMO). Haven't read of many other who have actually received in Canada. Mine's due this week.

I had initially pre-ordered a iPhone Pro Max Pacific Blue on November 6th for pick up at Metrotown on the 13th. I thought about it after the pre-order and wanted the 256GB instead but Metrotown was out of stock by the time I went back to look online. Fast Forward to Friday..

When I got there, I asked the rep if they had any 256GB's in stock and they had one in the same colour left. I ended up changing out the 128GB for the 256GB. Probably a wise choice.

I had to wait in line for mine as I was an hour late for my pickup window due to a work related delay, still it was only about a 30 minute wait Square one had a express pickup counter ( 3 windows) so they got through the pickups quickly

Have had my 12PM since Friday afternoon. Sofar two things I’ve noticed from the 11PM (battery degraded to 94%):

1. battery life is wild. I’ve been off charger since 8 this morning. I’m at 79% right now. I don’t even wanna charge it tonight at this rate.

2. It’s the first iPhone upgrade that’s felt noticeably faster in quite a long time. I can’t explain it but it just feels quite a bit better. Less app reloading too, very nice!

3. I’ve missed this form factor far too much. Feels so much better in hand vs rounded edges.

I also got the same SMS couple of days ago from an unrecognized number, asking to pay $3 fee before delivery. And contained a bit.ly link. The link goes to an appleorder.typeform.com, which then asks for full name, credit card and Date of birth. Very suspicious!

I placed an order on apple.ca last week. Already sent an email to Apple and UPS fraud department to investigate. Still waiting to hear back.

I finally opened and setup my new Iphone 12 Pro Max , I have to say Im on the fence of returning it speed wise its not that noticeable from LTE and 5G in my neighbourhood I like the screen size and its a bit uncomfortable to hold with the flat edges. will be all, over the place tomorrow and will see how the phone quality is for voice and data in areas I have issues with my 11 Max Pro

Hi Shazzz,

Thanks for the update and the information. It is interesting that we are both in Canada. I also reported this to Apple and UPS. I'll post any updates (and sorry to everyone for being off-topic).

Got a msg from Fido Wednesday night that my phone has shipped , my buddy at the store I’m having my phone shipped to said my phone arrived today but I can’t pick it up till tmr lol
Hey did you get your Fido order? My Rogers order shipped last Tuesday (got a shipping confirmation) and I contacted Rogers today and they said they can’t locate my order. What a joke.

Got it today. It just mysteriously showed up. LOL.

And here’s my story. I ordered a mini, was to be delivered yesterday. UPS claims it was delivered to my house. No signature. Upon looking at my camera UPS did NOT delivery the package. And looking at my video I saw a Ryder truck across the street at the time my mini was supposedly dropped off. After calling UPS complaining and Apple mysteriously that Ryder truck came back 2 hours later with my mini. Obviously UPS subcontracted this dude out and he was close to getting away with it. Thank god for the camera.
