Am I reading this correctly?

You were originally contemplating getting an iPhone 17 Pro to complement your iPhone Air? Two phones? WHY? And it doesn't sound like one is a work phone. It's just to complement the other phone?

Why do you need spare phones?
I do use a work phone but a very cheap android. I use to use an iPod touch but they stopped making it and apps won’t always be supported so i got an iphone 11. But yes having a Pro and air may be a bit much? The air could replace the ipod an wouldn't require a yearly update. Often my battery doesn’t last. I have two iPads as i worry the pro could get stolen if I take it out so it’s about having a spare too.

Wow...ok. So you have a spare for many devices.

Could you have a third spare and give that to me? :) I am looking for an iPhone 17 Pro and a new MacBook Air. Thank you ;-)

Username mostly checks out. Just must’ve gotten cut off. Gadget123456…

I decided not to get the Pro as it seems a waste of money i still need to replace the iphone 11 i just sold. My honest opinion after using the Air i like larger screen and weight of it i have went off the old design actually feel the 11 felt better. I think the iphone 12 bulky design has been around too long. Sure i read the 2027 all screen iPhone could be slim too and the fold so maybe that’s the future anyway? I felt maybe i need to go back to a heavy phone and it’s just me but sort of feel the existing pro is rumoured to be 2 cycles then probably slim anyway? Perhaps it’s current pro people who need to get use to the new design? I tried my wife’s iphone 16 and it feels so dated after the Air.

Congrats on the Air.

I love mine and have not regretted anything about it for *my* needs and use.

Compared to the 16 Pro that I never used any Pro features, the Air reminds me of the beloved 14+ that I begrudgingly had to replace because of AOD.

I’ve gone full circle started with iPhone 17 got the air so now got another 17 coming tomorrow. I cancelled the 16e and the Pro and used my credit get the wife an Air. I sold my 17 at a loss of £250 too! The iPhone 11 I had was past it anyway. I also get bored of the two camera or three camera debate speakers and battery life. Solution is to have both flagships who knows maybe I can upgrade the 17 in March 2027 on the next cycle?

I started with the iPhone 16 last year so I guess the 17 is good value with the pro features
