Hi all!

I ordered the Xs Max but still can not decide between the Xs 5.8 and Max 6.5. I know the screen of the 6.5 is amazing but I also know the 5.8 is one-hand-friendly..any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of plus size phones myself. I think the size of the screen is one of the most important factors in using a phone.

You do give up some ease of one hand use, but I feel that is more than offset by the big beautiful screen.

My recommendation would be to take delivery of the plus and use it for a couple days. Worse comes to worse you can return it and get the smaller size.

I have an XS on pre order but after looking at the reviews of the MAX I think I will be going with this.

The battery life and the screen look too good too pass up. The verge said the XS only got 8 hours compared to the MAX 12 under heavy load.

Go for the Max the big screen is worth it, in case you can't get used to it exchange it during the 14-day return period.

Thanks. I upgraded from the 7-Plus to the X and at the beginning it felt like I was missing something..the screen of the 7-Plus. Now I am used to it, but the Max screen blows me away. I think I'm going to give it a chance

I still remember when the 3.5" iPhone was "one giant screen" ....

This iPhone 5 was the true giant. :D

Unless your phone is your primary computing device, I'd rather watch videos and play games on a bigger screen like a tablet, TV or desktop display. For any other uses huge phones don't offer any significant benefit IMO.

It will take a while before apps will make any use of the larger screen on the XS Max and I'm sceptical if they will do much more on it even then.

I found the X to fit my hands well and it's comfortable to use with one hand and should fit nicely in a pocket. So my vote is for the XS.

Get the XS if you have average size hands, prefer using phone with one hand or wear slim fit pants.

The only thing I don't like about the larger versions, is that there is no way to stop the homescreen from going into landscape mode when you rotate it. (At least I don't think so.) Should have the option to turn that off in the settings.

There’s a rotation lock.

click on that and it will lock the rotation of the screen. It’s usually located in the CC. When you swipe up from the bottom of your screen.

I concur.

I use my iPhone on the go as a device to be able to send/receive text messages, take photos, take to the gym for music, and be able to slip into my pocket. I don't need anything huge.

If I'm watching movies or playing games, it's on my iPad.

you don't mind not to have any form of ergonomics but a beautiful crisp big screen: Xs Max

you prefer ergonomics/one-handed-use/easy to put in a pocket and still a crisp screen: Xs

I am going from the X to the Max. Had a 6s Plus at one point, but downsized to the 7 and the X. Since I got my Series 3 AW with cellular, however, I have found that a carry my phone a lot less for certain activities. That being said, I think the bigger screen is now an option again. We’ll see.
