no, they don't cover deliberate damage

Deliberate damage??? How is taking off the RAM door deliberate damage? All I did was unscrew the screw (not even forcefully) and this is what it looked like when the RAM door came off.

My question is why they changed the setup from the levers to the strange tape (for lack of a better term) to get the RAM sticks out. I tried to take the RAM out of my Dad's new iMac to upgrade it to 4GB, and the tapes would not release the RAM no matter how hard I pulled. At first, I couldn't even get the tape unfolded to be able to pull the RAM out. My Dad got the bright idea to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull on the tape, and it broke in half! Now to change out the RAM, I'm gonna have to use the pliers to yank the RAM out, most certainly destroying it, and I'm afraid I won't be able to get the new RAM in properly. I've put this operation off out of fear. I read somewhere on these forums that some think this new setup makes changing out the RAM easier than it used to be, but I seriously disagree! I liked the old way better! It only took maybe a minute tops, and caused no stress. I don't want to take it in, because I'm sure I'll get a lecture about how third party RAM isn't good enough, or whatever. Why haven't I heard of anyone else having this problem, though? Obviously it's not meant to be this way.

I had a similar problem with my 24" the other night when I went to install my 4GB of OWC memory....I ended up having to use a credit card to wedge in there to get the door to pop off. But for a while I was worried I was going to strip the screw.

I just took of my RAM access door tonight for the first time since I've owned it to see what brand the RAM was and the plastic around the screw guide pretty much denigrated (see pic) and now the RAM door will not sit flush or screw in tightly and the screw guide is just loose instead whats left of the plastic...is the RAM door supposed to have a little bit of a "V" shape to it or be totally flat? because mine has a little curve to it. In case you were wondering it unscrewed easily, I didn't force anything so i know I didn't damage it was I unscrewed it.

Please let me know...I'm within the first year warranty and I do have applecare, will this be covered?

Thanks.
