I'm having the same problem, though it seems to be only when I try to reply from an email address that has an image in the signature. It's really annoying since I have multiple work emails with different signatures that I need, and I don't want to have to delete them and paste them in manually each time.

I tried to delete my plist file, but it's not there for some reason:

(yes, I'm in my user library).

Help?

Exact same problem here and defo in my users library. Sigs not working or showing up in preferences. cant write text in main body of message

Delete signatures helped !

Wow what a mess.

I've deleted plists and signatures and things are now working. I guess it would be really interesting to find out why this is happening?

it all worked fine til yesterday's update.

thanks to all who helped us out!

In addition to the 'Reply' problem that started this thread, I had a "New Mail" problem: I was unable to edit the body of a new message and unable to close/delete the new message once the window was open.

I tried deleting the plist file(s) mentioned in this thread. It did not solve my new mail problem -- instead, removing signatures did.

However, I ran into another bug trying to remove my signatures -- the preferences dialog hung and neither Confirm nor Cancel would close the window after I selected delete (the "-" sign).

I had to kill Mail.app and upon coming back in, found my signature(s) deleted.

From then on, I was rid of the New Mail problem as well.

Thanks to the experts and sleuths on this board!

:D

Same problem with me. Once I removed the signature and re-added it without my company logo(pic), it started working fine.

Hi, I had deleted the three files. but the issues is still alive.
What should I do?:(

I think the culprit is images in your signatures, because my signatures without graphics work fine. Just delete the images or disable those signatures for now, until Apple fixes this mess...

Problem seemed to be image in signature

I have 3 mail accounts with different signatures. Once I realised it was only the account with an image in the signature that was having these issues, I deleted that signature, created a new one without an image, and all works fine now.:)

Wasted a bit of time deleting the plist files, red herring I think.

Recurring problem.

Every so often - I don't know why - the signatures re-appear and the problem recurs. I have to go through the process of deleting the signatures all over again. This has happened three or four times since the problem first appeared.

Mail Update Release

I had the same problem this forum has been discussing. None of the solutions offered here worked on my system. After installing the mail update, all is well. No issues left that I can see.

Update from the App Store for Yosemite Mail stating 'This update resolves an issue that may prevent composing a message and is recommended for all users.'

Updated and all seems ok so far. Just re-setup all signatures.
