I had something similar a few years ago. It happened after an iOS update, all of a sudden, my typing was full of errors. It might have been with iOS 12 or 13, but I’m just guessing now, it’s been a while. I just remember having to be super precise when typing. Before, I could be off by a millimeter or two, and the key or autocorrect would still figure out what I meant. But with the new iOS, the touch sensitivity changed, and I had to adjust the way I typed on my iPhone.

I make an absurd amount of typos (pressing the wrong key) on my 15 Pro Max to the point that I don't know how I could be messing it up that bad. I've been wondering if it's because the keyboard is too spaced out or if I'd benefit from a smaller phone because I didn't have these issues on past iPhones. Then again, I've mostly owned the Plus/Max sizes, so it shouldn't be that big of a difference, and this thread may suggest that something else is going on.

Sounds like you need to reset the dictionary. I have to do this every so often.
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary.

The iPhone learns overtime words you type e.g. names and places. I find after a period it just goes whacky and starts letting you just make up randomly words.

Gotta love the irony.

I personally have observed iOS/iPadOS autocorrecting words it shouldn’t, and not correcting the words it should (it suggests it with a red line underneath instead of just correcting it).

I am trying this. I have had issues with typing for a few years now, it just was not that accurate (same typing speed just more typos, or hitting the wrong letter).
OK, only 2 days in, but I am pretty sure typing is much better.
Better accuracy while I type in the same (fast) way, not paying 100% attention where I tap (just somewhere nearby of course).
It is more likely that the right word will appear (in 2 languages)!

Have the same problem. Happened immediately after 18.3. Got the I/U completion annoyance. Not sure what they did but they sure as hell ****ed it up.
