This email was in response to one i had sent to Akamai on the lack of an iPad feed. They got me that, but then it didn't have NASA tv, they forwarded my message to NASA apparently, who took the time to send me the info!

I think that really truly rocks! I'd share a picture from our viewing spot, but i have to go cook dinner for some kids first. :D We were about directly due west of the launch pad!

BUT, go sign up at the Kennedy Space Center website for their "Armchair Astronaut" emails and you will be set!

Thanks. Funny story here:

My dad isn't really into techno as it wasn't really his generation. When I bought the iPad he didn't think much of it and he always tries to wind me up saying it is just techno junk. When I told him he missed the launch he was pretty dissapointed as he is a Sci Fi fanatic and a space fanatic. I asked him "Dad do you want me to show you the space launch on my iPad?". He was like "Oh yeah brilliant! :)". So I gave it to him to watch and he was like "Wow the picture is amazing!". He was holding it and then he wanted me to look up what the next space shuttle being built was called so I googled it for him and he started clicking on the links and navigating to articles lol.

At the end he said the iPad is a great device and he really thinks it is good lol. My dad is 59 so that's why it is nice :)

Excellent! Thanks so much, that came in super handy :)
I was hoping you'd see it!

Too funny! That is kinda how my kids dad is too, he was shocked what she could do on her iPad when it showed up.

My Dad launched rockets on the west coast in the 70's, so he is kinda a gadget junky. Of course, he holds his iPod Touch and wonders what he could have done with all that power back then! He still talks about how great it was for them to give him the upper 4k!

I'm happy that the link got so much use, makes the multiple emails I sent worth it :D

ETA: I'm now up to 52.6 mb sent and 861mb rcvd on the 3G usage. Should have looked before we left the house. I think it was 500 something, so for like 2-2.5 hours of streaming that isn't bad. Unless, it will update tonight with more.

Thanks for posting it again :)

He just seemed so happy. I am quite interested in Space myself. I decided that I would love to take my dad to the Kennedy Space Station! Probably in about 5 years or something.
