Honestly, the AppleCare gives me so much peace of mind that I just laughed it off. Plus I have a second Apple Watch to wear in the meantime, Series 1 Space Grey. I'm about to live chat AppleCare and ask for an express replacement. Problem is it's Friday right now and I don't know if they deliver on weekends, I'm supposed to fly out to Jersey on Tuesday for a week. Might have to wait til I get back to California for them to send the replacement.

UnFortunately they don't do express replacements on weekends. Usually because it takes 24 hours for them to ship the product, followed by Sunday being a day where most carriers don't deliver. That's from my understanding.

Applecare informed me that they can actually do express replacements on site at the store if they have enough stock. I have a store appointment for tomorrow. If the store I go to has no stock I'll have them call around to other stores in the area. Thankfully I'm in LA so there's a ton of them.

So in store they have possible replacements, but as far as shipping/delivering on weekends, that they can't guarantee on a weekend was my point. But being Los Angeles is a major city, I would say your chances are good.

[doublepost=1494663327][/doublepost]Damn, I had a pretty good track record too. This is the first Apple device I've ever broken.

It happens. The downside with the stainless model, is that sapphire is harder and when you drop it, it typically shatters.

OP, I hate you. I have cape cod cloths and your thread inspired me to pull them out of the drawer and give my watch a nice polish. Everything was going just fine and I was so proud of my perfect polishing job, just as I was finishing cleaning it off it slipped out of my hands onto my tile floor.

Oh well, I have AppleCare+ and I was hoping for an excuse to use up an accidental damage express replacement before it expires, the battery hasn't been that great anyway. :D

sorry to hear that. But good excuse to use what you pay extra for. I am looking for a reason too!

Recently, i thought that my battery was going bad because % keeps dropping fairly quickly...so, for sure, i thought that my battery was done. Mine is closing on 2 years old next month. But damn it, the last few BETA updates have brought up my battery life to original goodness! Heck i even take my watch to shower 2-3x per week to clean it...and my shower head is pretty strong.

I simply cannot kill my watch short of smashing it on the ground! Oh well, i guess that i have to keep it longer...how suck is my 1st world problem! :D

Did they replace the device or just the screen?

They're replacing the device. I opted not to do an express replacement because I'm leaving for NJ tomorrow and wouldn't be home to receive it. This way, as soon as I return to California next week my replacement will be waiting for me in the store for pickup.

The applecare rep i spoke to was wrong apparently, stores never stock replacement watches.

I used to buy AppleCare, but my insurance company USAA charges $24 per year per iWatch 4 Stainless Steel or Aluminum. Lost, Stolen or Damaged. Fully covered for any issue. Been with USAA for 30 years. Just something to consider.
