It's interesting trying all these solutions. I can see why many people just opt for a single solution.

None of them are really the bee's knees lol

After restarting Winclone it finally spit out an image.

TM is stuck on "2 hours remaining" for the last 6 hours.

Arq quit on me because I was running Winclone even though Arq just backs up the home folder.

Oh well. Once I get a Samsung T7 it should be good.
Or you could use your 'clone'.....

I don't use the "safety net".

But in very simple terms (I'm a simple-minded guy), I believe this is how it works:

Source drive has files:
file a
file b
file c

You run the first CCC clone.
Backup drive has files:
file a
file b
file c

Now, two different scenarios:
Scenario first:
You delete file b from the source drive.
You run an incremental cloned backup with safety net OFF
Backup drive now has files:
file a
file c
(Because that's all the source drive has on it, since you deleted file b)

Scenario second:
You delete file b from the source drive
You run an incremental cloned backup with safety net ON
Backup drive now has files:
file a
file c
(in a special folder -- I forget what this is named):
file b

Thus, even though file b is no longer on the source drive, CCC has segregated and preserved it in a special folder so the file is not automatically deleted.

I believe this will work with "changed" files as well.
If safety net is on, and you changed/edited a file, both versions will end up in the backup.
The "current" (changed) version will be a part of the "regular clone".
The "old" version will end up in the "preserved items" folder.

I refunded Ark. It was taking days to scan and upload. I tried multiple times, but it's not for me. And TM is too slow as well. I'm only running with CCC for now.

I decided to only use CCC since it's fast and convenient.

I will copy my home folder into iCloud Drive once a week or whatever since CCC is always current.

iCloud Drive also has Desktop & Documents Folders syncing which is good enough for my dev project files.

I wonder if I could symbolic link my home folder to the Documents folder and have my home folder sync to iCloud Drive as well?

Everything has been going great with CCC and Winclone.

I have question regarding Parallels with Bootcamp and Winclone. I was using Bootcamp, but recently find myself using Parallels most of the time because it's so seamless with Parallels Coherence.

I was surprised to find out that Parallels can just use my Bootcamp partition.

1. Is Bootcamp via Parallels the same performance running Windows from a Parallels virtual machine?

2. When I make any changes to the Windows 10 Home system when using Parallels, is that a permanent state change to the Bootcamp system? e.g. If I install a new Windows program, change the desktop picture or open a new browser window, the same state will be reflected when I use Bootcamp? How does Parallels accomplish that?

3. If that same state is reflected in the actual Bootcamp partition, then I can run Winclone each time I use Parallels so that I can backup the new Bootcamp state right?

Does Bootcamp get that state update only when quitting Parallels? What about using Parallel's Bootcamp Suspension mode instead of fully quitting Bootcamp via Parallels?

Thanks
