Love the Waze app, but ever since iOS 15, it always hangs on the display when using CarPlay With a GPS not found error. To get it to work I have to restart the app.

Apple Maps does not seem to have this issue. Anyone else having similar issues?

it drives me mad, im now using tom tom its miles better, I tweeted Waze and they won't respond or update the app

Love Waze also, but have never been satisfied with how it works with CarPlay. Keep trying it with each update of the Waze App and/or IOS.

I have the same issue. Sometimes it sorts itself when I continuously press the Home button on the CarPlay dashboard which cycles between full screen, the tiled screen and app shortcuts.

But it’s still annoying. Seeing how many bugs there are also in macOS Monterey I really think Apple should hold on for a year and stop adding features and instead start fixing bugs.

It’s not CarPlay which is the issue it’s Waze, using Tom tom on CarPlay it’s flawless

I can flick between Apple Maps, Google Maps and Waze on CarPlay and Waze is the only one having an issue so it’s definitely Waze at fault. I only run it in the background for alerts but it’s annoying it’s just not working.

Thanks for all the responses, I thought I as the only going crazy with the Waze problems. In the mean time I‘ll open a bug report with Waze but use Apple Maps more

It's all on Apple on this one. It seems 15.2 has broken goggle maps as well.

Not sure where in that article it relates to iOS breaking Google Maps, the link relates to issues with bluetooth phone calls and even searching the article there is no mention of Google Maps. Also in my experience, and others in this thread, Google Maps is working fine its just Waze that seems reluctant to update its location on starting up the app.

Also for what its worth i've had no issue with phone calls in the car either with the phone plugged in so CarPlay (not sure how phone calls work with CarPlay in action) but also just normal Bluetooth connection and the phone in my pocket etc.

Since I upgraded my iPhone 8 to iOS 15.2 I've noticed on my Mazda CarPlay home screen that the Google map doesn't always automatically show up. If I open Google Maps on the CarPlay screen and go back to the home screen everything is OK.

I haven't checked Waze lately but a few months back it was giving me voice prompts on CarPlay when I didn't even have it running on my iPhone.

Same for me, along with Overcast and Spotify.

Not as far as i can tell. I'm on 15.2 and Waze updated and this morning it was possibly worse. Started Waze and stuck in same place on the map, did the usual trick of force closing Waze on my phone and then started it again from Carplay and did same again and never updated its position the whole time i was travelling to work. Apple Maps and Google Maps both working fine.

That’s so bad I’ll stick with using Tom tom
