iPhone Carrier hack patch, get better service/bars from your carrier.

I also experienced the same issues using the Verizon Beta 1 on my 6+. While my speeds and coverage increased slightly I would loose a data connection when going from WiFi to LTE or while traveling between LTE towers. I have also uninstalled and gone back to stock.

Is there a 2nd beta available?

Installed the (beta) Verizon carrier hack patch, didn't really notice any appreciable speed or coverage benefits. But after a few days started to notice failure to activate cellular data network - messages were defaulting to text message, couldn't use LTE data, etc. until I would reboot the phone. So I uninstalled. I think they need to work on the Verizon patch a bit more before it's ready for prime time.

For Verizon, besides the beta 1 not noticeable faster, does anyone else experience their battery drain faster and the phone warmer then usual?

Where do we report the issue with ATT? This looks busted and just is leaving the phone stuck at Searching. Looks like I'm not the only one.
 
Hesitant, but curious

After trying just about every phone provider, I have decided upon cricket. While they do throttle, I get 10GB at 10Mbps, and if i exceed, I still get 3 Mbps. I find this a lot better than 3 GB at 40. Does this REALLY work? If so, I'll be psyched. is there any way the carrier will find out & terminate your service?

According to the instructions, it says to select "restore," and then the .ipcc file. I assume this does not wipe your phone, as you are not selecting an .ipsw, but i just want to make sure...
 
More bars, same speed

just did this on my iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1.2 with Cricket as my provider. I now have full bars as opposed to 3, but according to Speedtest, the speeds are the same. Is there an update for Cricket/AIO?

It appears there is an update for AT&T beta three version. While I do know that cricket is owned by AT&T, and they get to priority above any of any of the MVNO.s , I was wondering if the AT&T hack will work with cricket. Technically, they do have different APN settings. But I have also encountered situations where using the APN Settings from the parent company actually do indeed work with envy and oh carriers, as well as crickets formerly AIO.

After installing this hack, I always have full bars.before that, I only got about three bars. When I clock the test using the speed test app, the van with test results shows almost little increase in speed. The signal bars however, on the phone, are ful this is the only part of this tweak that seems to be working 100%. On a bizarre note, while my

Myself and at least 2 other ATT users are having an issue after applying the latest version. If it's working now, I suggest you don't screw with it.
 
Hello guys it seems I can't pm the developer due to forum restrictions so I would like to know if anyone can help me to modify the h3g UK file and make it work for h3g Italy.
Also I would like to know if h3g has his own 2g network or if, like it happens in Italy, it uses the 2g network of another carrier. For example in Italy if you don't have 3g signal the phone switches to the TIM 2g network.

So I noticed that after I booted into safe mode to get rid of a tweak that caused my phone to not boot, it must have like, done some half ass attempt at resetting the network settings because Verizon 20.1.1 was no longer there and there was no network in the about page. Plugged into iTunes, offered carrier update, but only installed Verizon 14.1. Even after not being in safe mode it didn't work, though this entire time I still retained service of some kind.

I just redid the option+update and selected the .ipcc and it worked without an issues. Just weird that booting into safe mode deleted it.
 
Hey guys, just got a new iPhone and I'm slightly out of the loop. On AT&T running 8.1.2 with the newest carrier update. The AT&T beta 3 still works correct? Thanks :)
 
Is anybody having issues with personal hotspot?

My computer connects to the hotspot, but the blue bar does not appear at the top of the screen like it used to, the wifi icon has an exclamation point and says "No internet connection"

Neither ATT is working for myself and a few others here and you end up having to restore it and there's no way to report the issue I can see. So try it at your own risk. :(
 
iP 6+ Sprint here, I did this and my speeds went to crap, was around 3.5 down before and after I was getting between .07 - .22. So I fiddled with it for awhile and nothing changed. I didn't back up my carrier files because the offical guide said it could be reverted. Any ways, I followed the steps to remove it, and my phone's now showing 18 for the version again. But, my speeds are still as slow as when I applied the hack. I Googled and can't find the original 18.x carrier bundle anyone have a link to the Sprint one?

Hummm I'm getting iMessage delivery confirmations but people are telling me my texts are coming from my email, ugh. I guess the removing of the files and rebooting twice didn't reset some of the cell settings. If ANYONE has the default Sprint 18.x carrier bundle and could dropbox it or something I would love it. I Googled and Googled but can't find anything except 21.
 
I'll give it one last shot, my speeds are still in the .08 - .22 range. The internets pretty much unusable now. Resetting the phone won't restore the files if everything I found on Google's correct. Is there anything I can do here? apparently the older IPCC are nowhere to be found. I spent 2 days looking now. Could someone give me some help here? I'm super stuck.

First impression

Hey guys, just noticed this thread and the idea of hacking to get better service sounds interesting. However, is it safe? Sounds like a dangerous hack, :confused:
 
It's safe. Works pretty well for me. Sprint/5S/8.1.2

I don't have any noticeable increase in speeds most of the time if I'm in am area that I got decent LTE coverage in before but it does seem to find and lock me on LTE faster and more often than without the hack.

Seems safe for most people, but it killed my speeds. I have dial up modem speeds currently. I can't figure out how to fix it. I guess I'm going to have to totally reset my phone but with all the Cydia stuff I've customized I'm not super jazzed about doing it.
 
Working fine for me on EE (UK) iPhone 6 and has done since their release. I posted my results earlier. (Gained 6Mbps d/l 2 u/l)

The developer is no longer supporting them/creating them due to events on reddit.

Last night /r/jailbreak was severely disrupted by trolls of the Reddit community. In an effort on Joe's account to clear these things up (using an IP logger and cross referencing accounts) everyone ended up in a panic under the impression Joe was preforming a malicious, illegal act- this simply isn't true. This was simply for the fact that the trolls escalated this issue from dumb horseplay to harassment, impersonation, and defamation. At this point in time, I can confirm Joe made no threats about slitting throats (this is confirmed) however, when the trolls saw things exploding, they ended up fueling these lies. At this point, Carrier Update Hacks are temporarily suspended until we can resolve these issues.
