and if I do this, does it impact TetherMe in anyway? I guess I should say I'm on VZW

i would remove tetherme prior.

----------

Are you sure about this?

I lost my jailbreak doing this last time.

negative, not sure about it. but going with the flow here.

here is how to reverse it while keeping jailbreak.

1. In iFile or some other file system browser for iOS, navigate to var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles and delete the entire folder named iPhone.

2. Tap the remaining folder, Overlay, and delete all files located inside of the Overlay folder.

3. Exit the file browser and reboot the device 2 times. After the 1st reboot, allow the device to acquire cellular signal, then proceed to the 2nd reboot.

4. Your device should now be at stock settings.

I did exactly this.

It doesn't work.

Is 8.1 currently being signed?

I lost my jailbreak following those instructions.

Well back on 7.1.2.

As far as I know the commcenter doesn't get repaired or go back to stock version just by rebooting the phone twice.

Use at your own risk.

This is correct. I deleted all the appropriate files/folders and they never repopulated after many reboots.

I think the only way to go back to stock is to keep a back up of the original carrier file and place it back, then remove com center tweak then reboot twice.

I made a copy of my original carrier files. I always do that when I modify/delete a file.

Is this only possible with Windows? I'm using a Mac, and the ipcc file is grayed out when I choose restore.

edit: nevermind, I got it.

You have to run this in a terminal window on a mac before you can install the ipcc file:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool true

This carrier hack I don't think did anything for me. I still get 2 bars and a measly 2 mbps at home.

Also just want to confirm, the version for AT&T should be 20.1.5 after the hack?

Anyone have the original Verizon iPhone 6 carrier file just in case? Not that I see any problem so far.

Yes that is the correct version after applying the hack.

And how do you do this on windows exactly

Don't know if this still applies, but you can give it a shot:

If you happen to use an iOS device with Windows, iTunes carrier testing mode is enabled by launching iTunes as an exe with a flag attached to it:

%ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

If you're on

64bit Windows,

go to terminal and type/paste this:
C:/Program Files (x86)/iTunes then type iTunes.exe/setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

32bit Windows:
cd C:/Program Files/iTunes then type iTunes.exe/setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

I've done this back on the 5s, but will this carrier file affect VoLTE on Verizon on the 6/6+? Also, can't get Verizon links to work and the installation guide isn't working. Seems like the site is down?

VOLTE works fine.
