I don’t think you realize the stupidity of your question. Your asking if a product will be available at its own launch. Anyone with half a brain knows the answer to that.

Cases are usually available before the launch of a product. Case manufacturers will make them based on leaks/rumours and take a gamble, if they can get a few cases available before anyone else - and the rumours are true, then they will make a nice profit.
I wouldn't read anything into it. Expect them to be available a week after, bonus if they're available straight away.

Yes, curious about this as well. I have a 3rd party back case that approximates very well the original back cover.
You really need a back cover with the iPad. There are no rubber feet to raise it off a table, so every time you set it down you run the risk of a small grain of sand or dust scratching up the back.
If Apple doesn't produce one, I'm hoping a 3rd party one is available quickly. It'll also be interesting to see how the keyboard attaches to the back (if rumors are right) and how that impacts a back case.
Just use a skin. Much nicer than a bulky case and provides all the protection that you need against scratches

Here is one for the 11 inch it says. Not yet available but looks like a real good case. Previous versions of the ZUGU case are very highly rated.
See what it costs but if it the same as previous models I'm in.

I just peeped it and the Apple Smart Folio covers the front and back but not the sides. Oh and is $80
What? It does cover the sides. The bottom is held onto the device by clipping around the sides.
It doesn’t look like it does. What makes you think it covers the sides, l sure hope it does.
I agree the images do not show it covering the sides, maybe it does not but I never leave my iPad sitting on the EDGES when not using it.

Look at these pictures on Apple site. You can clearly see the edges. Man I hope your right but it doesn’t look like it.
Being somewhat clumsy I’m more worried about drop protection. You drop it and it hits on the edge you can hear the screen cracking across the room

Im pretty sure it does not cover the edges. Looks like this 'smart cover folio' just snaps using the magnets on the back.
Im very careful with my toys but hopefully i dont scratch the sides as they are aluminum
