Just got this working as well. 3DMark shows a modest improvement, but before installing these drivers, I couldn't drive the Dell p2415q at 3840x2160@60Hz in Windows with only one 4K display, now it's working fine with dual 4K displays.

This method doesn't seem to work on the 15.7 drivers - the install will only add the Catalyst/Firepro Control Center, and not the driver or other package content.
I was able to use the method to install up to 15.6, any tips for 15.7?

15.7 works great for me using the same install method. I used the latest version of DDU to uninstall 15.6.

Doesn't work for me.
It doesn't detect the driver in the installer, just installs the CIM and one or two other packages, no driver and no hdmi audio etc.
What version of windows are you running? I'm on 10, latest build.

This is all it allows to install, which doesn't include the actual driver.

Yeah, I'd not test Win 10 until a few builds after release, although it's mostly ironed out, AMD 15.7 is hopeless. Literally.
Turns out you have to use the windows 8.1 drivers, because the windows 10 drivers aren't compatible with windows 10.

But for me AMD 15.7 on 10 is producing lengthy black screens 3 - 10 mins when quitting GTA V, and the laggiest performance yet in GTA V, half the buildings don't appear, etc. Do you have that game on your 8.1 system, and is the driver causing those issues, or is it a win 10 problem?

Instructions above worked like a charm. I was able to make the modified installation folder and transfer to other hard drives I boot my Mac Pro into for Windows. I use external SSD drives with Windows 8.1 as not enough room on nMP internal SSD, and the instal worked perfectly.

I use SMC Fan utility as in GTA V the heat does built up. I get well over 90 f.p.s. in GTA V now (up from 33 without Crossfire) at 1920 x 1080 and well over 60 f.p.s. at 2560 x 1440. Amazing!

I have a question though, once done AMD informs me there is a new upgrade available called Crimson. Is this wise? I guess I can try it on one drive and see.

Well, I eventually got the latest Catalyst Beta to work with my nMP (6-core, D500s) and, WOW, GTAV at 1440p, very-high-everything settings is INCREDIBLE. An absolutely flawless crossfire implementation. 60FPS, solid, no stutter.

Here's how (I think) I did it:
- remove all drivers with DDU;
- unpack Catalyst Omega drivers;
- unpack latest Beta drivers;
- unpack December 2014 Bootcamp drivers;
- replace the entire contents of the Bin64 subdirectory in the Beta drivers' directory (in c:\AMD\) with the entire contents of the Bin64 subdirectory of the Omega drivers;
- replace the Installmanagerapp.exe and installmanager.dll files in the Bin64 directory of the Beta drivers with the same files from the Bin64 directory of the December 2014 bootcamp drivers;
-run setup.exe in the beta drivers unpacked directory.

I lost my catalyst control panel in the process (despite registry cleaning) but, who cares about that if crossfire no longer needs to be switched off for GTAV???

Good luck!

[EDIT: I managed to get the Catalyst Control Panel working by re-running setup.exe in the 15.4 Beta driver unpacked directory and making sure the tick box for the installation of the control panel was ticked (after selecting a "custom" install).]

Kudos! Works perfectly.

I am pretty sure you didn't follow the instructions accurately.

Did you get the message immediately after the 15.6 install that Crimson was available?

I am pretty sure you didn't follow the instructions accurately.
It's been a while - last time I tried was back in July, but I did follow the instructions to the letter multiple times and produced the same result. I can't remember when exactly, but Apple rolled out new official drivers over Bootcamp, and I stuck with those in the end.

Of course it could have been that (and a couple of subsequent) builds of Windows 10 that caused the issue, there have been quite a few since July, I temporarily dropped out of Windows Insider builds as I needed a little more stability, now the option to get back in is blocked by a message saying 'some settings are administrated by your company' or something (which is me), and I haven't been bothered to ix it yet.

At the time Crimson wasn't released, I'd be interested to try that - let me know if you get it to work!
Which nMP model do you have? I have Quad core with upgrade to dual D500, 16GB RAM, and 512PCI-E, I don't think I get as high fps as you though on 1080p, so maybe I should look into the catalyst drivers again.

Currently running an IPS 4k Panel, sadly I can't get more than about 9fps out of GTA V at native 4k though!!

I've managed to get the latest Crimson drivers working on the nMP. Basically followed the previous instructions

Can you give me the link to the correct Crimson download please. I just get totally overwhelmed by all the questions on these PC oriented sites1 This is why the OP was so wonderful, he had the exact names of the downloads and I was able to search and find the direct download links without using the AMD site's system.

Ok our set ups are different. I boot to an external SSD running Windows 8.1. I Use Windows to Go (part of the Enterprise version) to make this so as not to have to use Bootcamp as the internal SSD on the nMP is so small. I have the 6 Core with FirePro 500s and 16 GB RAM with the 256 GB SSD.

The nice thing about using the external SSDs is they are bare and I use a USB3 Dock, thus I can have several set ups to test. I do beta testing for a mod developer for GTA V so this comes in handy. I also run Paragon's NTFS mod on the Mac side so i have full read / write to to these Windows SSDs and I can do a lot of prep work from the Mac side. I never download anything from within Windows only from the Mac where I unzip unrar etc. Then copy across to the Windows NTFS partition. The really neat trick with Windows to Go is it makes the EFI partitions for you and I can create a working bootable Windows disk in minutes from a VM on the Mac. I can also clone from disk to disk when needed so long as I leave the EFI partitions untouched. Only the working NTFS partition need be cloned.

This ability to run Crossfire has taken GTA V to over 100 f.p.s. at 1920 x 1080 and over 60 f.p.s. at full 2650 x 1440. It is remarkable the difference, I was stuck at 30 f.p.s prior to Crossfire running.

I'd love to test Crimson if I can get a link to the correct driver package from someone who knows how to navigate the maze that is the AMD web site!

p.s. I only run Windows natively for gaming. Nothing else. I have both Parallels and VMWare for the odd office type usage. Note I use a VM to create the boot risks. I don't own a PC. I only have a trial version of Windows Enterprise so i get three or four hours before i have to reboot but that's no issue given it's free :) Rebooting is very fast anyway.

Thank you!

If you're feeling brave, you can follow the instructions in this thread
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/installing-the-new-amd-crimson-drivers-on-nmp.1940412/

to install the Crimson drivers. I've been running the Crimson drivers on my nMP with D500s since soon after they were released.

Thanks so much! What I really want is the link to the 'correct' Crimson drivers for the AMD FirePro D500's I have. I tried modding the same way as in this thread (i.e. just file substitution from three driver install packs to make the Frankenstein Install that works) which worked for someone above but I failed. I suspect I had the wrong drivers.

BTW I just cloned my working SSD with Windows 8.1 to another SSD so I can try this without being brave :) I used CCC on Mac Pro to clone the NTFS partition (never tried that before) and because I have Paragons $19.95 NTFS patch it worked perfectly. So much easier than messing around in bloody Windows!

This is a few days later ... I am pretty sure i found the Crimson correct drivers for the 6 Core Mac Pro and simply substituting the contents of Bin64 in the beta driver install package and then adding the install files from Bootcamp drivers (which works fine as per the OP) doesn't work for me thus far.

I don't want to get into modding the actual files so i will be content with the working set up I have but if anyone does find a simple approach to updating the current set up I'd love to hear.

As of a few weeks ago AMD released genuine Crimson Drivers for Macs. I removed all my DIY works (as per this thread) and installed the new drivers for my new Mac Pro from AMD and everything has been great. Be very careful to uninstall all AMD drivers and reboot before running new install! I use a 3rd party utility that's free called Display Drivers Uninstaller a.k.a. DDU. As with all things for the Windows environment I down load on the Mac and unzip there. Then transfer to Windows one way or another (Thumb drive or directly from the Finder using Paragon NTFS). That way you avoid the crapware and dirty tricks that abound in the Windows World.

Since installing the genuine drivers from AMD I have a cooler Mac too! Remember Catalyst dual GPU system requires full screen, it doesn't work in a windowed game.

I'm getting fast frame rates at 2560 x 1440 with very high graphics settings in GTA V, Just Cause 3 and my Mac Pro aced the Steam VR tools app with well over 120 f.p.s. in the test, something it could never do with the DIY hacks in this thread.

I still only run Windows 10 (or 8.1) by booting directly into an external SSD or SDHD from the new Mac Pro, never using a partitioned Boot Camp set up on the internal. You need an ISO in the VM of the version of Windows you are going to install. These are easily made with two free tools running in Parallels or VMWare Fusion, WintoUSB, and to partition the disk correctly prior to using WintoUSB, I use the free Mini Tool Partition. This easily sets up your drive for the small EFI Fat32 area (200 MB is more than enough) and the rest as NTFS. Remember to convert the disk to MBR and set the partition EFI to active. This is all obviously done connected via USB3 but once done the working Windows drive can be selected and booted from a Thunderbolt dock or USB3 dock (hold option at boot on Mac to select EFI volume).

The Crimson driver version number should start with 16. That's still 15, looks like a updated Catalyst driver, not Crimson.

Anyway, Thanks for the sharing. I may try to download this driver and install on my cMP later. I am now running dual 7950. The Crimson driver works OK, I can play GTA V in 4K. However, I must boot without Mac EFI, otherwise, system crash at some stage if crossfire enabled.

I am not sure if this driver can be used on the cMP with 7950s, if yes, it may solve the crash problem.

I don't mind to trade off a little bit of performance, and I seldom play very new games anyway. Hopefully this is the solution.

Update 1: Tested, not working with 7950. The software simply won't install any graphic driver, most likely due to difference device ID between 7950 and D700. For those who have dual 7970 may have more luck.
