Was that with the Windows Mail app? I've not delved too deep into how to work that one. All I know is that my Gmail filters never seem to work, though I have the sneaking suspicion that this has something to do with it being an account that's managed (in the very barest sense of the word) by my old college. Outlook on the other hand just straight up gives you an option to block an address, but this doesn't work too well with ye olde Canadian Pharmacy and their 6,666 email accounts.

I am not sure, but I will say that in my Windows days, I bought (that is, bought, rather than downloaded a less robust free version) the most rigorous, robust anti-spam, (and-virus, anti-malware, anti-trojan etc) software available, and it was completely inadequate for the task at hand.

This has not been an issue - except exceptionally rarely - since I switched to Apple in 2008, for which I remain profoundly grateful.

How was it inadequate? Just didn't protect against the worst stuff?

Also, I'm enjoying 'Sabriel' a lot, though I've not encountered the inimitable Mogget just yet. :D

Ah, you will meet the inimitable Mogget, he is utterly unforgettable - and he plays an even larger role in both Lirael and Abhorsen.

Delighted that you are enjoying the book. Believe it or not, they get even better.

Re the ant-anti stuff, no, not only did it not protect against the 'worst' stuff - well, maybe it did - but stuff was still getting through, far too much of it, & I was still receiving - literally dozens of such unwelcome emails daily. It really did become rather tiresome.

My brain left out the word 'hour' and I got really confused for a second. Relevant to online medicine:

Note the skillful insertion of forward-slashes to avoid filters, the 9 year copyright, and the throwaway email address. And of course, that beautiful parenthetical statement at the end which prompted me to take this screenshot.

I'm curious what this "professional" line of viagra is here. Silly scam marketing. Maybe it's a new forumulation for professional men who need to get frisky during the work day, but only for a short amount of time :p

Yeah, 'cause getting frisky is intensely professional. Er, I mean,
Okay: Slight spoiler: When Sabriel (eventually) arrives at the Abhorsen's House, - her ancestral home - she will meet Mogget.
I literally stopped on the doorstep! I can't believe it. :D

I see quite a few people who already have cat profile pictures for this site. Wouldn't it be great if there were more? Like an army of cats? Join this thread, change your picture, and we will turn the tide (I will change mine when I actually comment, as purr protocol)! This would be especially hilarious for tomorrow when there is an insurgence of new members and they see a predominance of cats commenting on the news, making it look as though cats are interested in Macs, when they are of course much more interested in wireless mice. :D

lol... I thought that said MacRumors for a second.... Still good.. :) i like pets.

And, do bear in mind that Mogget also features - quite prominently - in Lirael and Abhorsen, too, should you wish to make his acquaintance anew.
Oh, I certainly will be reading those as well. I just have way too many books checked out from the library at the moment, so I'm going a bit slow. Hopefully no one else checks out Lirael (what a delight for the tongue, this title) and Abhorsen in the meantime. Or at least, if they must, that they return them after I'm done.

I think it bets to view Lirael and Abhorsen as two parts of the one book - the second book takes up exactly where the first one finished - but - if you liked Sabriel - you will love these even more.
