Yep exactly. Cats are not that squeaky clean as the internet portray them to be. Personally, I've had more problems with a cat making messes than with dogs.

It turns out you don't need 'an app for that.' Just close the screen.

That doesn't work if you have an external keyboard and are working in clamshell mode.

Clever idea for an app. The last time I had an indoor cat, he loved to climb on my keyboard at my desktop computer to try and lick my face (the best cats are too dumb to know they're not dogs, and he was a great one). He typed messages to my friends in WOW many times, but this was before webcams were commonly used, so I never had proof that it was the cat.

I've had one of my cats jump on my keyboard as I was going down the chain in Blackrock Mountain. Almost fell face-first into the lava and that's on a hardcore server!

Here my cat I got him from RSPCA 3 months before Covid, it super annoying when the cat walk over the keyboard when you're in the middle doing something to work on or studies or gaming etc

Thankfully my dog has never done that.

BTW that’s a behavior btw often caused by one or more of: malnutrition, stress, fear, some illnesses, and some meds. While it can be instinct sometimes, particularly with breeds closer to wolves, or neurological, typically it’s something addressable.

One big culprit often is dog owners who react strongly and angrily to incidents of a dog pooping in the house. There’s a reason zoos and aquariums dont use negative reinforcement. It can lead to a dog learning that “eating the evidence” keeps them from punishment.

The wrong diet is also often a significant culprit

It’s not an intelligence issue, and rather often it’s the fault of the dog’s human, not the dog’s innate behavior
