OK, I apologize in advance, but this was too odd, even for me.

At the Phoenix Metrocenter AT&T store (a balmy 110 today), Tera Patrick and some heavily tattooed guy showed up at 5:45 and tried to cut in line. The crowd voted an unmistakable "HELL, NO!!"

Who's Tera Patrick? I wondered myself (never heard of her before today). Apparently, she's a porn star of some renown, and was trying to bribe the front-of-the-line folks with autographed videos. Sorry, Tera, wrong crowd for that.

In case you're wondering who she is yourself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Tera_Patrick.jpg

Not an A-lister, and certainly not a Woz-like sighting, but definitely in the weird enough to mention category.

So, who did YOU encounter today?

CliffyB drove up to laugh at a fellow Epic employee who was standing in line.

Link for those who don't know CliffyB

Guess they should have at least one iPhone at Epic monday.

That heavily tattooed guy is her husband. He is a bassist in some heavy metal band (Not a really famous one). And he also stars in movies with her.

I'm sure some have heard this but Mayor John Street of Philadelphia was third in line today. Many are throwing criticism his way as to why the mayor of a city with twice the average murder rate of the nation has time to sit and wait for a phone.

The Valley Faire store (Santa Clara/San Jose) had Woz in-line. Apparently he camped out overnight in the mall with a few buddies--the local news (KNTV) had video of him playing on his Segway. Video can be found here.

I'm pretty sure he gets vacation time like everyone else.

Kevin Smith was in line and got his iphone at the Grove here in LA. Pretty funny to see the Apple employees cheering and applauding Kevin Smith as he exited with his iphone.

Wow. Doesn't even look like he has body guards there. I know at Macworld he always has at least 6 people securing a border around him. At Macworld 2006 I shook his hand and said hi but that was about it.

He likely figured that someone else would do the killing for him while he stopped for a phone. .....like he sits there all day plotting various ways to stop the murders....

Anyone know if Oprah got the iPhone? If she endorses it then the iPhone will shortly be sold out for a few weeks lol. APPL holders will be glad.

In Minneapolis we had iJusten, really that was it that I saw, a few locally known people, but thats all. Thats the problem with the midwest.

lol! I was there in Phoenix! That was some funny crap. Of course, I got an autographed dvd and a picture with her...what can I say? It was funnah!

JohnNotBeatle:
What position in line were you? I was the lucky guy who was in postion 1. w00t for me!

David

Wow, Steve Jobs looks like my Grandpa or something with his long neck and his baseball cap and his wierd smile.

I wonder if
paris-hilton-thats-hot.jpg
