i would suspect Apple is preparing shipments to many celebrities for free. Great advertising. Get a few published pictures with stars on their iPhone and it is worth 10s and 100s of thousands of dollars. Certainly worth the price of a free phone.
 
There was a guy who looked EXACTLY like Jerry Rice behind me at the AT&T store in Murrieta Hot Springs. He was also wearing a San Francisco shirt as well, and said he used to live there... Maybe...?
 
I'm the Twins batboy and I've had to go out and buy iPhones for Twins players Kubel, Cuddyer, and Cirillo. I bought one extra because I know more guys are going to want one.
I also picked one up for myself...

It's worth a few phones to have celebrities using them, sure. How many more is it worth to see them standing in line just like everyone else for one?
