Hi - can someone who has the new M4 iPad Pro cellular version confirm if the T Mobile $10 for 5GB/150 days plan (exclusive to iPads) still exists in settings?

Went to Apple Store to check but no cellular models were on display.

Thanks!

I don’t have mine yet so can’t confirm for you, but an alternative I think is decent is Roamless. Rather than buying data for a set amount of time, you add funds to your account and it takes from those funds as you use data at a rate of $3.25/GB in the US.

So for $10, you would get a little over 3GB rather than 5GB with T-Mobile, but it wouldn’t expire in 5 months. I think that’s better if you are a really light user. It also uses AT&T in the US and works in 60+ other countries at different rates.

They have a referral program also. You get $3 in credit when you sign up with someone’s referral code and they get $3 also. You also get a $5 credit the first time you add $20 to your account, so you can get $28 worth of data for $20 if you do that which would give you 8.6GB of data that again doesn’t expire. I don’t want to post a shameless referral code so if you’re interested, you can send me a DM and I’ll send you my code.

Interesting, had never heard of that! Thanks for mentioning I’ll check it out.

I just got my 2024 M4 iPad - the 5GB / 5 month / $10 plan still exists and I just successfully purchased it.
I got it too. It is a little sketchy not able to see how much data is used on the T-Mobile website. Also, seems like it’ll be annoying to reset it up after 5 months. When I call support to get questions answered they don’t understand the plan either.

What other plans do we have for iPad in 2024 on t-mobile?

I saw they just updated their website, but it doesn't show the one you are talking about.
Also, can you stream hd/4k content?

it seems like it is limited to SD in the 20usd plan or 720pp in the 25usd plan.

Just used that plan (again) for my iPad mini last week. Excellent value if you only need cellular occasionally.

Signing up again after it expires is easy. Early renewal if you use up the data before 5 months is more problematic.

What country does Roamless use for internet breakout?

Sorry, I’m not sure what you’re asking.

Where does Roamless route the traffic?

I believe if you open this site with VPN disabled while using the Roamless eSIM for data, it will show you.

One of the eSIMs I've used routes traffic through Hong Kong and I'm trying to find alternatives.

Were you using Three HK?

This is Roamless. For the record, I’m in SE Louisiana.

You just cancel the subscription when your data runs out. The only hassle is that you have type in all of the subscriber info again. You can use the same account name, email, and credit card.

Thank you for this information! I ended up buying a cellular iPad but didn't get a plan as there aren't any specific iPad ones here right now.

I bought some credits on Roamless after seeing your recommendation and used it briefly for the first time today on the commute to work. It was SO helpful, thank you!

I can confirm this as well. The plan is still available in all iPads with cellular. Also, the performance in the US is excellent, much better than other plans I have tried (I have had issues with Redtea). And once you have used all the data, you can purchase it again.

How were you able to sign up? I am trying to do this with my old 2018 iPad and it keeps giving me Error Code 608.

I've been experiencing a hard stop if my data runs out before the expiration date, with no possibility of early renewal. So I use one of the other carrier options listed on the iPad in the interim.

Again, it isn't that difficult. Just delete the account and sign up again. You can use all the same information as on the deleted account. There is no limitation except it is somewhat irritating to have type all your info in again.

Can anyone confirm if this plan works in Canada and Mexico? I now it used to, but the last time I signed up it did not work in Canada.

I understand that it is “free” and the cheapest solution (as I have unlimited data on my phone). But when seriously using data, it burns through the battery so quickly!
On my daily commute I use about 10-15Gb per month, so that equals to about 250Mb per 40 minute trip. But that does cost me easily 15-25% battery on my iPhone 15 pro max. And the phone gets really hot.
And establishing the link is not always working perfectly, its a hassle sometimes and I need restart both devices…

More on topic: why not add an iPad data subscription to your phone one? I did that, it cost me €5 per month and I get 50Gb per month. I can also use the 50Gb per month to roam through Europe. It’s been so wonderful, travelling through Germany, Czechia and Austria by train and just being able to download your daily newspaper, have a coffee and enjoy the trip.

The problem with this, at least for me, is that hotspot is not always consistent. It almost always "works," but it takes multiple attempts to hook them together. A cellular plan is so much more frictionless.

That, so many annoying moments, when I was at a client and the meeting couldn’t start because my MacBook wouldn’t connect to my hotspot.
