Tweetie and all other apps all decide to censor content, but it is based on Apples approval process in which they decline apps based on "offensive content". So yes the developer blocks those sections, but ONLY in order to get it past the nanny state, finger trigger happy Apple censors.

And where were you to defend apple when all those people were bitching earlier this year that their kiddy got onto porn with the iphone?

Oh wait, i forgot, you joined just to make this thread....

What I really don't get is why you care so much, if it honestly bothers you enough to get in such a tizzy then why dont you take your business to another platform. OH YEA! they have filters as well in their app stores!

Of course they dont NEED to, but it is best for them to in persuing a family target.

They CHOOSE to.

I am so sick of this "family" argument. Most of the people that make the argument are parents who are so unhappy and unfulfilled with their own lives, they have to project their own inadequacies and control the only thing they can... their innocent children.

They were the ones who distributed misinformation for Prop 8.

They also cause the teen suicide rate to increase, because their kids don't fit into the perfect family picture they are trying to create in their own head. But they fail to realize that the picture can never exist and when they are old and aging, their kids are off with their own life without a care what happens to the parents that made their childhood so hard.

What about love and acceptance? What about teaching kids about the realities in life, before they get knocked up and are meth addicts?

Just remember, people all have to learn the realities in life at some point. Should it be when they are younger and have time to adjust while you can still guide them? Or should we put kids in a bubble until their 18th birthday, then they have to learn everything overnight with no support? This is why kids today can't even count change at McDonald's... Because their parent's didn't teach them how. They were too busy with Jen & Ben gossip over those Caramel Macchiatos.

Why do you care so much? Oh yea... You are just a troll sitting in forums all day trying to make sense of your life while we all have crap to do.

Where was I? I was not aware that I had kids. The question you should ask is where were their parents?

Like I said before, I have a life and s**t to do. Im not a troll sitting in a forum trying to stir up conversation for my own jollies. I posted here to get people motivated about apple's choice to sensor EVERYONE and not just kids.

I'm only reading this thread not trolling around to start an argument.

For those who don't know what a forum troll is:

Troll -
One who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument in a manner which attacks others on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark of such an argument via the use of ad hominem attacks (i.e. 'you're nothing but a fanboy' is a popular phrase) with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue.

Sounds like NT to the Tee

Nice double post there....

Anyway, contributing to the discussion isnt trolling, even if its from a different perspective.

I wasn't aware you just wanted this thread to be an echochamber.

Wow did not realize I can find a woman on CL. Man, I love reading these forums. Find out something new I can do with my iPhone everyday.

Yes you could possibly find a woman on CL but that was not the section I was referring to. M4M is Male for Male. I think there is less sexual content to worry about in the F4M or M4F sections.

I do wish CL would bump all the sex M4M ads to M4M > casual encounters and out of the relationship area. It would make things easier on me looking for a LTR but that said, I am not offended by the sex ads. I'm not a Puritanist prude like those Apple is trying so hard to cater to.

If Malikai or Ezekiel are so offended by the "offensive" content on the iPhone, why don't they move to an amish community where there are no iPhones?

I don't, but you didn't make a point yet, just smart retorts (which sounds like troll activity).

So make a compelling point...

Why is it in Apple's best interest to censor everyone rather than have an admin parental control?... Im all ears.

Since when does Apple cater to your personal wants?

since when is it an issue to disapprove of apple practices...

how old does one need to be to sign a phone contract again? oh yea 18...not a child.....
adults are the only ones that can buy iphones so its the parents place to censor, not apple. all apple needs to do is implement the option, not force it

so with that said, why should apple censor my phone for the sake of kids

PRSI in 3, 2, 1…

Pasadena Refining System, Inc.?
Polymer Recovery Systems, Inc.?
Pay Related Social Insurance?
Public Relations Society of India?

I guess I need to study up on the text acronym lingo. It's funny but kids today know all the text acronyms... hence the "POS -- Parent Over Shoulder".

I guess not even Apple can prevent kids from finding out what they want to know.

That poses an interesting question.... Should we close down the entire internet just because a few child molesters were cruising for kids on that Dateline show? Did the police arrest the CEO of the ISP hosting the chat room? Or did they arrest the pedophiles?... hmmm.
