These three are all quite similar; the Satech differs from the Plugable and Sonnet in having more charging capacity. The Sonnet adds a power button and status light

I have the current hub on my Studio M2 and both the SSD and attached USB keys drop off the bus on a regular basis. Pretty annoying, especially since I was using the SSD for media storage during editing.
If I knew the issues had been fixed on this version I’d get one to replace it.
Received the new hub today and installed an NVME 4GB SSD.
Have been running it on my M2 all day without seeing it dropping off the bus. So so far it seems ok.

In looking at reviews for the previous mini hub, it seemed like people had problems with the hub just not turning on. Anyone here dealt with that? I’m interested in buying one, but want it to work correctly most of the time.
I have the older Satechi stand & hub for the Mac mini without a ssd drive in it. No problems with it for nearly 2 years. I have an Apple wired keyboard hooked to it with no problems. It is limited to only 5 Gbps of max speed. I just ordered the new 2024 model with 10 Gbps of speed to help with my usb-c external drive I plug into it. I also will install a NVMe ssd it it for another backup drive. MacWorld recently did a review of the new one with installed NVMe ssd in it.
