We had one of these as a courtesy car from BMW, while our 3 series was being serviced this summer. I booked a 1 series but they didn't have any, so we were given this Countryman or whatever this long Mini is called. It is crap, crap, crap. It's an annoying car and for what it is, it's overpriced. The retro shape with the stupid door arrangement makes it even more awkward to live with. It has a cheap feel and hideous dials with average interior. I would rather drive a battered, rusty old E30 coupe with a fraction of its value than a Mini Countryman. That would just send the wrong message that I don't mind spending money on a car but that's the best - a joke theme car - that I could come up with.

I don't pimp my own drive or any old crap and I'm not willing to pay BMW to do the same for me.

I'm a BMW fan and have thought about restoring an E30 or picking up an E36 M3. I personally would never buy a Countryman but the Cooper S and JCW appeals to me. I understand that this car may not appeal to some people but I personally dig it. It's very peppy and has soul. It does something for me and it's what matters. I've looked at a new BMW 335i...RWD...twin turbo. On paper it has everything a car guy would like but meh...too generic for me.

Give some thought to the Citizen, which I believe is one size larger. I do bike, but even on days when I don't, I appreciate having the extra space for my laptop and other various junk.

I recently got a bag in north face, great size and gets my macbook and other documents around with ease.

I actually love those E30s, that is why I wouldn't have an issue driving any example. At least I'd be driving a decent car or something that was when new.

I had all sorts of cars over the years, almost exclusively German premium ones but my biggest regret is not to get a 318is when I had the chance. I went for a practical E46 Touring (third in a row) and later I bought a 1983 SL280. That was a more special car but I still have a lot of admiration for those small BMW sport coupes. That is why actually, that I have high hopes about the 1 series coupes. The history is there, you can see the DNA, that's what BMW is very good at.

24" HP ZR24w or 24" Dell UltraSharp U2410 to replace my 20" Cinema Display, still haven't decided. The HP is significantly cheaper but the Dell seems to have the edge in color accuracy. I guess you get what you pay for.

I'd just like the car I bought in February to be legal.
(college kid sold me a car with a restitution lien), this has screwed this whole year for me, i drive a beater I had to buy on 1 day notice and could die on me anyday. my goal this year was to get out of debt completely, I'm less than 500 away but now I have to come up with 1500 to get the car legal......for a car i paid 3k for.

So somehow I am trying to do this while being a single dad and put together a Christmas for my daughter
