Anyone working for Apple care to confirm or deny if stores have "passcoded vaults" that are off access to normal employees, but can hold a a truckload of pallets?

Sounds like the OP is more likely 2 days away from being possibily banned due to creating false rumours, than having the heads up on new unannounced product... Easily confirmable rumor though - as this would be seen across multiple stores if true. Isn't back to School promo material most likely?

here is another person who mentions it

here is another person who mentions it

and that person says...

Back to school to be announced tomorrow.
When you see a box come to you that says do not open until 5/27/09, you know what it is.

Your welcome!
I have seen the box there is no passcoded vault :p

It is a BIG box... But if we take everyone's word for it...

Okay people, calm down. Tomorrow is National Grape Popsicle Day, so, naturally, the box is full of grape popsicles.

What retail stores dont? especially ones with $2000 laptops in the world's smallest packaging sitting in the back of house?

And their vaults arent as much of a vault, but more of a coded cage area with a 4 digit passkey... they happen to call it the vault at this store.

The games store I work at has a four digit password to enter the stock area, though it's obviously not off limits to all employees.

Lol @ 'false rumours', also :D

So all in all, you weren't wrong, OP.

Apple's product line is very confusing at the moment lol.

i wouldn't call it christmas, but the OP said something was coming and he was right! sorry for doubting you, dude.

and yes, it's VERY confusing! are they keeping the white macbooks or what?! it's actually a decent refresh. not only are there the standard processor bump, bigger hd, faster memory upgrades, but it's more energy efficient and has better battery life!

I read somewhere that after refreshes the unibody MB's will get the MBPro name and the plastic MB's will keep MBook. Seems like a realistic rumor.

The good side of the grass.
My source is a leader on the floor and has limited knowledge, however when asking her store manager the reply was "something big is coming. and i dont mean ooh new ipod big, i mean big. if a new ipod were to come out, that would be like valentines day. And this is christmas."

If the store manager is your supervisor, you're lucky. It would seem they have an awfully low bar.;)

we'll see. i kinda hope that it doesn't happen though

Anyway I'd say Christmas is a good word to use for today since students get a free iPod ;) That's what normally happens at x-mas.

If they do change the alu macbooks to macbook pros then theres gonna be about 5 macbook pros and 1 macbook? doesn't seem right.

If they do I'd like an upgrade... change my screen bevel so it says Pro as well :D
