Chrome may win in terms of raw page rendering, but all browsers are so close that it really doesn't make a huge difference.

The biggest thing that keeps me from Chrome (aside from iCloud integration) is that Chrome lags while scrolling and when playing video if I swipe between spaces I get bad lag. I don't have this with Safari.

For me, it's how long it takes for safari to generate a new tab. It's an absurdly long time for a simple process.

That, and I don't know why the zoom is all askew in safari for some pages. 9Gag for example has all the images blown up. Is there a setting I am missing?

New tabs in Safari indeed take a few seconds to open, however, this didn't happen in Yosemite versions before the current DP, so I guess it'll resolve itself when Yosemite is final.

It's also instant for me as well... Maybe some people just have dodgy Mavericks installs they installed Yosemite over...

I'm using DP6, before that DP5, before that PB1.

Tabs open really fast here. The only reason I still use chrome is because the bookmarks work a lot better there. Also the fact that chrome has extensions that I use a lot, and safari basically has no useful extensions.

Same here, Tabs are not an issue for me either. Chrome has built-in flash and I don't want to ever have to download Flash again so I use Chrome when I need flash. Apple needs to seriously consider having a Safari Extension re-do, it needs to be completely redone and better designed.

So has 64-bit Chrome done anything for battery life? I'm not going to consider it until the battery life stuff has been figured out. Both Chrome and Firefox (my preferred browser) cut my battery life in half compared to Safari on my MBA '14

Something is wrong with your system and does not translate to all of us. Mine is just plain fine.

I know!

I've never used Chrome because Safari was great for me but all of a sudden i have a lot of bugs that i've never experienced with Safari.
For example, my Safari "hangs" almost every time i open a new tab or open specific websites like Facebook etc.

What version do you have..?
Any idea on how to fix it..?

I to had delays but had to trouble shoot them one by one, and even got a new modem from my cable company.

I have the most current Safari, which is 8.0 from Apples update site.

Try another DNS server from your WiFi router.

May wish to change your Wireless channel 2.4 or 5 Ghz . For me channel 6 works best in my area for the 2.4 Ghz, and channel 40 for my 5 Ghz

Unknown what if any apps that you are using that may cause a delay. I use ClamXav virus checker only. I have the current version of AdBlock and that is it.

Of course I now have Yosemite Public Beta 2 and no other OS on my system

Good luck
