I saw that but don't think it's really an iPod burn considering the fact that the "mp3 player" that they're using is an iPod rather than a Zune says something about the popularity of iPods compared to Zunes, not to mention a Zune wouldn't have been bullet proof either

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that. They call it an mp3 player and the iPod is what represents the MP3 player, just like the sony walkman represented portable music back in the day. So yeah, not really a burn, just some nice revenge to see an iPod shot up with an AK47.

I also noticed this in the last simpsons Halloween episode where they were doing a spoof on charlie brown and swapped out a record player for an iPod, which basically is the same theme as what i said above. The iPod represents digital music for out time now.

I think that Microsoft and all the "iPod killer" companies miscalculated. They're not really cutting into iPod's sales, they're just cutting into each other's sales. So maybe Microsoft will gain 1% because Creative lost 1%, but none of them are taking away from Apple's 70+% market share.

I suddenly developed an urge to get a Zune (the original brown one no less) for some reason in the past couple of days though. The first generation Zunes never came to Canada, and I'm just so curious as to how much it can suck. It looks so atrocious that you can't stop looking at it. It's like watching rotting corpses on all those CSI type shows. My friend have a 30gb 2G Zune, and it just looks so big! I don't know if it's the design or what, but it just looks huge. iPod Classic just seems slimmer and smaller.
