I'm looking at buying this game, is there anyone playing it on their Mid-2014 rMBP 15" with dGPU? If so, how well does it run?

2.5 Quad-core Intel i7
16GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 750M

I've got the GT 650 in a 2013 15" Pro and it runs the game great. So should be no problem for that one!

I've been playing on my Late-2013 iMac, how do you keep your MacBook cool? I tried playing it on my MacBook, but in less than five minutes the GPU temp was 185° F, and the total temp was reaching 200° F. (I was playing in a cool room, with MacBook slightly elevated on a desk.)

My iMac plays fine staying under 160° F, granted it has a bigger fan and more intake. I was, however, looking forward to having the game on my laptop for portability.

Whilst the Macbook does get hot (it seems to with any game), its not got to a point I'm worried. I've got 83 hours of gameplay and the only issue i've had is the spiny wheel a few times. Seems no worse then when I'm playing mine craft. I play with it on my lap too! or whilst in bed if having a VERY lazy day :D

For those with the Intel HD cards,

I did try playing it on my 2012 Macbook Air (Intel HD4000), but i could not tolerate it, maybe because i was use to the better graphics the GT650 was giving me, its playable yes, but i really would not recommend it. My 2014 Air with the HD5000 in was smoother than than the 2012 Air, but i still would not be able to enjoy the game anywhere near as much on those devices and I'm guessing when a city gets very big it would just die and the unlock all tiles mod i think would be just a no no. Would be interested to that game on a 2015 Air with a HD6000 as the bench marks seem to show the HD6000 being a lot faster than the HD5000. http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...011-GHz-vs-Intel-HD-6000-Mobile/m8536vsm24946

Would be really cool if you could just get a small thunderbolt dongle that was a better graphics card and just pop them in the Airs.

Not really sure if Apple are gearing up to take the gaming side a but more seriously with Metal coming to OS X or if its just to make OS animations smoother and be more power efficient. Really annoyed me when they made it so the only Macbook Pro with a gaming card in was the top model when it use to be on both the 15 stock models.

Haha, thanks! By the way, what are your (GT 650) graphics settings on? Are you using any launch options/mods that speed up the game?

Attached a screenshot. Not using any launch mods, just ones that unlock all the tiles and transport ones.

 I've been playing with everything on low/off except for details on medium and texture on high.

I had everything on low when I tried playing on my MacBook and it was heating up quickly, and the fans started blasting. (Granted I expected the fans to turn on, I felt like it would've ran cooler if they had turned on sooner.) Are your fans blasting while your playing? (Sorry for all the questions.) :D

Yes fans are blasting away, but every game i play does this on every Macbook i own. Unless its something basic like Solitaire.

Same here, always using notice cancelling headset to not get annoyed :)
