City of Heroes & Villains is coming to the Mac!

You gotta get an email with a serial number to play though! Beta last's till Jan. 16th. so the game will most likely be out then!
 
I wish someone would FTP their PIGG files. I have a 7 hour download of updates I am looking at :|
 
By the way... if anyone hates the icon as much as I do, I made these two, which look great!

FYI - If you close the download window, it will restart from scratch! Sounds obvious, but on windows if you close it and re-open it, it starts off where it was!

I signed up for the beta when it was first announced and haven't received a serial number. I just finished downloading the client and it's asking for an account name and password.

I'm confused, how is this an open beta?

Dunno, never got one either.
 
I just got mine today. Apparently you have to sign up for a new account (even if you have one) and it runs on a test server. Its in beta just to make sure it works properly on the mac system.

I did pre-order it from GameTree's website which is how I got in. You have to wait 24 - 48 hours thought to play even after you get your code
 
I got my beta invite for European account. Downloading as we speak. Thanks for the new icon, I also think the default one is pretty hideous and very un-Maclike.

If you have an active CoH account, you don't need the serial number. You already have access to the Test Server. So just download the client, wait a bajillion hours for it to fix all the files, and you're good to go.

OPEN BETA ACCOUNT SETUP – CURRENT CUSTOMERS:

If you have an active subscription to City of Heroes, you will not need to set up an Open Beta account (because your active subscription includes access to the Training Room/Open Beta), and can skip to the “Game Installation” section below.

I'm having an interesting issue: No matter how many times I launch the game, it doesn't appear in Apple > Recent Items > Applications. Is that happening for anyone else?
 
I installed and launched it but it simply stucks saying "downloading file manifest" without downloading anything at all. Somebody has experienced this ????
 
I haven't run into that particular problem, however the server is ridiculously slow at the moment (I'm only getting 30 KB/s) so it's probably just overloaded.

I don't even get as far as that.

I launch, get the updater and it says :"Project info 0:00 Remaining", Below that is says "Connecting..."+ attempt number and speed (0B/0B)

Can't get it to connect, :(
 
Got my invite yesterday, attempted the download...left it on for the better part of 10 hours and it'd only downloaded 400MB or so of a 2.2GB download. I tried wireless and wired, no difference. 6+Mbps connection and I can't get the client downloaded? What the heck?!? :eek:
 
So has anybody actually had a succesfull install&patching so far ?

I'm still stuck with client that won't update at all.

:(
 
I left it updating all night and it downloaded a total of 72 MB. If the installer is this bad then I shudder to think what the game itself is like!
