What would be awesome if there was an app that could keep all of OUR books on a shelf with the ability to look at other's iPhoner's shelves and borrow books from their shelf wirelessly. I would buy that in an instant.

Very Pretty But...

This app is very pretty and the developers have created a very impressive page turning animation. If your desire is to look at some pretty book icons and perhaps spend spend some time being impressed by page animations, then you will be very happy with this product. If what you really want to do is immerse yourself in a good book without being distracted by the mechanics of the reader, then you can do much better. BeamItDown Software offers the same books in a reader app that is designed to enhance the reading experience, and not just the getting ready to read experience. Is it as pretty as the "Classics" reader? Nope! Not even close. When it come to beauty, they win hands down, but when the words start smoothly scrolling by in the BeamItDown Reader, you will soon forget about non-funtional cosmetics as you become enthralled in your chosen book uninterrupted by any gratuitous "look at me" graphics that ultimately distract the reader from total immersion in the book at hand. Try actually reading with both. I have no doubt which you will prefer after the first 5 minutes.

I've been perfectly fine reading 20,000 leagues. Currently on page 894. I don't really understand how you'd get distracted. The page color is perfect for reading!

Anyway... #12 in top apps. Pretty impressive.

Looks like it's been dropped to $1 now. Maybe now it can compete with the top 10 apps.

Oh, and I hear there is an update pending approval ;).

1.1 seems to have landed. I'm not really sure that any books have been added though.(Update: I think "A Christmas Carol" is new)

And..... it's out! Main features:
-An Illustrated version of "The Christmas Carol" By Charles Dickens
-Option to flip or slide for page transition
-Option to turn on/off sounds
-Formatting changes/fixes

Yes, aawil, it is new. Just in time for Christmas.

Here's a screenshot, I put the new book right in the middle.
