Could be based on some underlying library or service that still needs additional updates/tweaks or has some conflict somewhere. It's a beta (as was mentioned).

Could it be like the other widgets it just doesn’t update properly? Especially because it would have to constantly update and none of them seem able to do that right now.

It's not an issue with the clock, it's an issue affecting the widgets as a whole. There's obviously a problem that needs fixing, and thus as a beta TEST, we provided feedback on the feedback app, and they fix it. I wonder if everyone on here whinging about the clock have bothered to do so (Have seen a couple that stated they have, but not much more than that).

I believe the clock is also a bit different to other widgets as it is animated, whereas all other widgets are essentially little webpages that refresh every now and then.

Anyone else having this issue?

I don’t even have the option for a clock widget. I’m sure I must be missing something.

Go into Wiggle mode on home screen and then swipe left, tap on the plus sign icon in the top right corner, and then scroll down and you should see the list of new widgets that you can add. You should see clock in the list.
That’s what I mean. It’a not on that list.

The clock app icon always worked fine though. The widget is basically an enlarged version of that.
No it‘s not. The clock app icon is something exotic no one has access to, whereas the widget system is essentially open to 3rd parties (you can do widgets that have dynamic content like moving parts).

This issue is related to underlying widget issues that prevent them from updating properly. I assume it has to do with the timeline not updating properly due to potentially aggressive power management for the widget system.

What time is it? The widgets are even showing impossible clocks. Inconsistent with each other, impossible times.. lol. Just a mess.

Also the calendar widgets always show their stuff in English.

If only there was a another place on the phone that showed the time. Like, the lockscreen, or the top left at anytime phone is unlocked.

Which is why I wish Apple would give is the Always On Display like Android OLED phones have done for years.

I am surprised in the new Beta that the Weather App if you switch to Location Based still only shows Cuppertino lol, I figured that would have been addressed by now. I live in Charlotte btw haha

"i know it's a beta, but why does it behave like a beta?"

of course these things need fixing, but why is anyone surprised that betas have issues? even 'finished' OSes have issues...

meanwhile, this:

"If only there was a another place on the phone that showed the time. Like, the lockscreen, or the top left at anytime phone is unlocked." 👍
