collectively it seems everyone wants me to get an ibook. i was looking into getting iwork prestalled is that good idea. are there any apps i might need as a student?

While iWork is a fine application, you will probably want Office. iWork as yet does not have a spreadsheet application like excel. Rumors are that it will at some point (perhaps MWSF 2006). I have both and prefer Pages and Keynote and use them on my iMac but I need excel for school so I have Office on my 12" ibook. Office shouldn't be too expensive. You can get the student version like people have said for $150 but you may be lucky and have schools that sell versions for $60 (my undergrad sold it for $69, grad for $60). Let me tell you I love my ibook. I'm using it for pharmacy school and it meets all my needs. Good luck with your decision.
