Yep, that's the way to go. It is great to not have to leave the Mac OSX to play games, but then I have a bunch of Windows XP games that will not run even in emulation mode under my Windows 7 64 bit. So it cuts both ways - the games houses may support for a while, but prefer to get you to buy the next version of a game soon as a new OS comes out, rather than provide a patch.
I hope EA act differently, and Man Up!

i recently bought IMAC 27 and loved to play c&c 3 on my old windows computer. but unfortunately cd i bought needs to be updated to 1.09 before i start using it. but every time i try to install the patch it comes with error 'some of the files have been modified, please reinstall" i have reinstalled the game sever time. cleared hidden files from Library before reinstall but it keeps up coming with same problem every time i try to update. please help

Forget the patch - I believe it is probably already in the version of the game you have. I have corresponded with EA and a patch is needed to run on Lion, but I doubt they will bother

can anyone verify if they bought their dload through EA's website?

I went to the mac section, saw the link to C&C 3: Tiberium Wars, but the system reqts are PC and when I click to buy now, it doesn't show mac?

too bad there are issues with Lion. I was hoping to use my new mac pro with it as it's souped up, but i'll just my 2009 MP with SL. My kids want to challenge me so they'll play on the imac.

I love the C&C games so it should be fun

Are you running Snow Leopard or Lion? With Lion I have not seen anyone get it running. I have contacted EA & they say maybe a patch will be released if needed! So I am not holding my breath

I have tried this every which way and have even installed win-7-64 on another VB...

the same error comes up:

something about being sure to be running directX-9 and make sure hardware acceleration is not turned off.....

I remember it would not run on XP on my MBP using Parallels, only if I booted into XP. But that was years/parallels ago - I might try it if I have time and email back soon.

An update for anyone still monitoring this thread. I ended up buying a new copy on steam. If you set the User Account Control to "off", the game runs perfectly on Windows 7 64 bit within Parallels 7. So I imagine an original DVD version should as well.

The Mac version is Dead :-( An update for Lion was never released and since they have a crappy stripped-down version that you play online, EA obviously don't give a hoot about supporting the Mac copy.
