Did you really read up (the latest) how to root on Android? It is much simpler. You don't even need a PC and cable and install itunes like jailbreak.

All I did was download the kernel zip file (using phone browser) into the root of the sdcard. Put the phone in recovery mode and select the zip file and install. Reboot. That's it.

I searched how to root a Nexus 4. I really have no need to root it because there apps that do what I want on the phone.

Interesting comparisons but extending from two tablet based apps, one a local news station to all apps seems a bit overreaching. Of the apps that I use, there is little to no difference between the iOS and Android versions. Could be random luck on my part. Might be that I have only used the phone versions and tablet versions differ more due to the scalability of android.

Thanks for posting the comparison. I appreciate the time you took with it.
