I thought when they throw “metallic” in the name it’s because of the material that color sits on? Sort of like their metallic silver color... doubt they would ever put it in a band. It does look good, though.
How about some more near-monotone loops like Purple Pulse?

Let’s see how close we are. I like your concept but I don’t know that yours really honors the kumquat idea. It’s more just that yellowed Hermes “tangerine” or sherbert. Then again honoring the kumquat lugs just puts you back at papaya.
You made me want cream as the third color with northern and plum anyway...
