Hey...leave Sam alone. I have had issues with his posts but he's still allowed to do whatever he wants...
What I can't believe is Sam got his and I still waiting on UPS
Let me know what you do and don't like...I am actually interested in your opinion due to your prior posts. Having someone who seemed adamantly disinterested go out and purchase one will be interesting...a different view if you will.

Thanks undrpsi - as you know, I spelled out all the reasons last night for why I wasn't getting one. And to be honest - after using the iPad a bit (not very much granted- YET) I can say that many of those reasons are still there. I am sure I'll read books on my iPad - but I honestly think I like the weight/form factor and screen of my Kindle2 for JUST reading. That's just one of the examples from last night.
It's unfortunate that my post got deleted. But in short - things like not being able to video chat, create content (I video edit) and so on all still exist.
Remember - I didn't want to buy a device that might have x in the future - if I was going to invest in a device, I wanted it to have things I would use TODAY. I don't purchase on maybes - I purchase on results.
What changed for me is a) I jumped in without looking/caring - call it an experiment. b) I made a decision/lowered my expectations to nothing so that the iPad could only raise them instead of the other way around. (You will note that some of the fans here are now disappointed for x or y because I believe they raised the device too high on a pedestal.
So what do I like? The screen real estate. That's about 80 percent of the reason I got this as I said initially. Watching movies and or surfing the web is obviously better than an iPhone or iPod touch. And since I travel and will soon have a wife - watching movies and tv shows on the bigger screen is worth the cost of the device. So if nothing else, I bought a $500 portable video device. I think the Netflix App is what sealed the deal here for me too.
I like that all my apps run on the device. However - as most do run (obviously the camera-centric ones do not) - there can be quite a difference if quality from viewing it actual size to the "2x" size. In fact - for quite a few of my applications - I can't even imagine using it 2x size. Way too blurry/ugly. If they upgrade their apps to iPad - great. If not, I will "deal" with using them "as is" without stretching them.
The Apps designed for the iPad are great. The real estate is really what makes this device fun to use/view. On the "realist" side - and I am sure the faster processor negates my comment - but there's nothing REALLY the iPad can do that a iPod touch can't EXCEPT that the real estate makes things more enjoyable. Meaning - you COULD have Pages/etc on the small screen - but it wouldn't be enjoyable.
I do look forward to more apps which harnass interaction between the iPhone and iPad. Today I played a bit with airmouse. It was fun controlling my iMac with the iPad.
I would love to see an app take a video feed via wifi from an iPhone and funnel it to the iPad - perhaps then we could get a video chatting app going.
There are a few things I like after some light playing. I'm sure I'll have more.
On the negative - pretty much everything I was complaining about. I know that might sound weak as an explanation. But sincerely - I respect the device for what it is - flaws and all.
As someone said early on - it's just a big iPod touch. And that's not entirely off base. It is - but then again - when the iPod touch comes with a large screen and apps that take full advantage of the real estate - that's not a bad thing. It comes down to what you think you want/need to use the device for and if you can "justify" spending $x on the functionality you will get.
