Who cares, especially after seeing it for the twentieth time today? You could at least try to make your posts longer than the crap at the start of each one.

I think that is caused by whatever program he is using to post with.

Yes, it's posted by the wireless version of the forums. The stripped down, basic wireless version for old school phones that have a basic WAP browser.

Now, if the iPhone is so awesome, and Mobile Safari is so great, and we're in a post-PC era where phones can access the full internet, and we don't need desktops, and blah blah blah, then tell me *LTD*, why are you still using the basic bare-bones WAP browser on your iPhone? Shouldn't Mobile Safari be able to handle the full, desktop version of the forums? I browse and post on the forums using the full version on my Android phone all the time. Can the iPhone not handle the full forums?

Why wouldn't it? It's got a better browser in the first place.

I use Mobile Safari from time time, otherwise it's iCab. I'm not sure what your issue is. I use whatever the browser defaults to on my iPhone. On my iPhone it (iCab) defaults to the Mobile version, or I may have set it to "mobile" months because it's a mobile phone. I assumed it was logical. I can view the full version without any problems, however. MR offers a full version and a mobile version. I don't really prefer one over the other on my iPhone. I assume "mobile version" is good for phones. I never gave the issue much thought beyond this.

I've got the full view (as opposed to mobile view) of MR on my iPad. I can see more of the site on this setting thanks to the larger display.

I can see casual iPhone users being drawn to the next shiny toy, meaning WP7.

Haven't they been drawn to it already? It's going to be a year pretty soon. This reality has been covered numerous times over the past year. Here's another instance:

http://www.neowin.net/news/wp7-hit-by-abysmal-sales-android-soars-to-50-of-market-in-q2-2011

The next "shiny toy" for iPhone users is the next iPhone.

Something with "Windows" in its name certainly isn't going to put a dent in Apple's customer retention rates - not now, and not for the foreseeable future. Unless a thermonuclear device happens to fall on Cupertino. Let's get real here.
