Nope. Why would it? Same bandwidth, whether it's being done on DP or DVI.
So not even a TB display would eat into the TB bandwidth then?
I think he means TB/mDP ->DVI, or anything else - HDMI, DP, or VGA, uses the same amount of bandwidth since the video signal passes through TB/mDP.
To that end Apple has given us 3 TB controllers to futz with.
