Considering how you've upgraded every generation, I highly doubt the "future proofing" of the 2018 11 inch IPP matters at all in your usage :) But it's great that you've been so happy with the devices. Do you miss the bigger size of the 12.9 at all? Or is the increased portability and one-hand-ability worth the tradeoff?
You are probably correct about future proofing for myself. when I say that I’m talking about others that have it or thinking about getting it today, the iPad Pro has always been a few years ahead of the standard iPad I’ve honestly thought about switching from the 11 to the 12.9 but At this point financially it just doesn’t make sense. I have to say if there was an easy way to just switch I would totally do it, not because I feel the 11 is too small just the fact that I never got a chance to own the 12.9 inch and the smaller overall footprint. My YouTube and Netflix and video editing all works just fine on the 11 inch I’ve just wanted to have that opportunity to experience the 12.9 inch in the third generation.

Your posts are pretty unreadable. Please use punctuation. Say “period” at the end of each sentence if using voice.

I am considering an iPad but I mostly work in word and PowerPoint so wondering whether it makes sense or not.

The mobile versions of these apps don’t seem as good as the desktop versions and while it seems like it would be a cool experience to work on an iPad, how practical is it for presentation work? I assume word is probably fine.

Agreed. That was basically one long run-on sentence. Feels weird to say “period” or “Comma” when dictating, but you get used to it.

I haven’t tried using mobile PowerPoint, but mobile KeyNote is a pleasure to use. If you do a lot of graphics and transitions, I actually think the mobile KeyNote is a better experience than KeyNote on the Mac.

Word is not a good idea on the iPad if you do anything sophisticated (define your own styles, run macros, etc.) The biggest stumbling block right now for me is that the Office apps still don’t support the ability to open more than one window, so you can’t open two Word documents at the same time — which is a big part of my workflow.

Thanks. I do a lot of multi window work whether it be browsers and PPT / multiple PPT windows / multiple Word windows / PDFs etc.

I think it would be fine for markups / review of other people’s work but for content creation for my own workflow it would be challenging.

I haven’t tried Word or PP but if you’re experienced with these with a traditional computer, you’ll likely be quicker with your existing workflow.

There is most definitely a part of me that misses the 12.9 inch. I thought about upgrading to the 12.9 inch and then I looked back and I say when I had the 12.9 it never left the house and less it was a plane ride. Since I’ve been on the 11 inch I take it everywhere I go and it is at my disposal Hopefully that helps you out.
