I'll tell you what, once you go big screen, it's extremely hard to go back to 4" screens.

Whenever I hold an iPhone now, it's too small for me since I got my Note 2.

I agree with what you say about big screens. I've had my iPhone 5...it's really weird holding a small screen iPhone

----------

It was late last night so I didn't want to get into a 'Pros and Cons' discussion about Android.

Whacky, all I can tell you is, just switch over and test out Android for two weeks. I personally think you won't regret it.

And for everyone who's suggesting to go to local retailer and play with the phone; personally, I feel you need about two weeks to really get a feel for the device, not just an hour or two.

Once you realize everything you can do with an open OS, it's hard to go back to iPhone.

So, go for it and let us know how you like it.

Enjoy.

Thank you HiDEF. I'll go ahead an try a Nexus phone when the next one comes out. Im waiting for the next one in hopes of it having LTE. I know that my company Sprint gives you 30 days with the phone and you can return it and you have to pay a small fee, $30 I believe. But that was in 2011 so Im not sure if that still happens now.

I have had a iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S and 5 and could not have seen me switch to Android. I got the chance to try the Galaxy S3 before the iP5 came out so tried it fully intending to switch back to the iPhone 5 when it came out (I had mine and my wifes free upgrade). I ended up with the S3 and iPhone 5 at the same time so could evaluate them both. I sold the iPhone 5, I just enjoyed the S3 more, since then I have had a Nexus 4 and SGS4 and each has been better than my previous phone. I cant see me switching back to the iPhone in the near future.:)

The phones from Apple, Samsung, HTC, LG, Google, Sony et al are all top notch, I am sure that any one of them will give you great pleasure.

Sprint recently changed the return window to 14 days.

Ah yes thank you. I think 14 days will be enough to test drive a phone and determine whether or not to keep it.

Who even knows if Sprint will be getting the next Nexus device. The Nexus 4 was unlocked this time around. You're probably better off getting a Galaxy S4 and putting CM10.1 on it. Someone will probably port the Google Edition ROMs to the other GS4 models soon (hint: XDA).

I remember when I was at Sprint and I had a Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 5. That I was going to reserve my iPhone and for 30 minutes I was thinking of it. Cause the Galaxy Nexus really got me thinking. But in the end Im glad I went with the iPhone 5 since a few weeks later Google announced the Nexus 4.

Yeah I know hopefully they will. If not I will most likely get either get the Nexus "5" (if it comes to Sprint) OR get the Galaxy S4 and immediately put stock Android.

i come back from Galaxy Nexus to 4S.
i found the "rule of thumb" is still the best.
you don't always have to operate your phone with two hands.

besides, screen estate belongs to tablets...not phones.

Thinking about it, I don't think any of the carriers carry the new Nexus phones. Really, you can't go wrong with the HTC One or S4. With certain roms, you can get rid of TouchWiz or Sense all together.

Also, TouchWiz is just a launcher so you can download Nova (which is excellent) and be done with TW.

My personal opinion (once again) go for the S4. It seems like a great device. My pops just recently got it and I'm amazed how light it is. And the build is really nice.

HTC One is great as well but I hear that the camera isn't all that.

Considering installing ROMS on an Android phone is pretty easy and I can get rid of TouchWiz easily then the Galaxy S4 is a phone to strongly consider if the Nexus is out of the question.

You won't be disappointed with S4. Just READ READ READ before rooting and installing ROMs.

I had issues when I first got my Note because I didn't follow instructions and had to pay for someone to help me fix my phone. I learned my lesson.

There is a Google version of the Galaxy S4 coming soon. You should be able to purchase it on Google Play.

I used a third party launcher on my Galaxy S3. There are a variety of them available. I like Nova Prime.

Pictures shrunken down from 16MP with a Panasonic GX1. iPhone 4S is the one with the black case (Puregear PX360). The blue ring coming out of the GS4 is a MantaRay ring, and the GS4 case is actually a ZeroLemon 7500mAh battery with TPU wraparound backside.

As for why not use the OEM battery for the GS4? Because I can - third-party internal extended batteries are unheard of for iOS (battery cases/sleeves do not count).

My bestfriend has a note, I really like it. My only problem is handling. HAHAHAHA :D I think my hands are just too small.

Alright ladies and gents. Android users everywhere!

I'm a iOS user...and I have been since 2010. I've been using iOS since 4.2 and for a year Windows Phone...but...we don't talk about that. Horrible Days. Dark Days. I've LAUGHED in the face Android. Ever since I first saw an Android phone was an HTC Evo Shift. Running Android 2.3, the fugly design just made me go for Windows Phone. (There was no iPhone in Sprint back then) But now ever since ICS and with those Google phones. Nexus 4 running PURE GOOGLE ANDROID no HTC Sense, No TouchWiz. Just Pure Google. Its been catching my eye. And I can remember...after the announcement of Android 4.2 and Google Now I said to my friend "Nexus 4...Android 4.2. Google Now...Oh Lord. You've broken me Google." So ever since then I've soften up towards Google. I started using Google services and keeping my eye on Android since that day. Now with iOS 7 being unveiled I think I started moving more back towards iOS but a part of me is wanting to go to Android. The Nexus 4 is a well designed phone and so is the system. Its sexy!

But I need help. I want you all to convince me. Tell me WHY I SHOULD jump ship from iOS to Android and should I wait for the next Nexus phone.

Give me pros and cons. Convince me. Convince an iOS user to go the Android side.

Okay, I think right off the bat, if you have 300 dollars for a new nexus when it is released get that if you can wait, if you are rich get n4 and then get new nexus, and here's why, nexus is released in November and I think we are at the point were you start waiting 3 months for a new phone, no point in buying one now.

Okay here are the things that contribute. Do you like the ui? Compare android n4 to iOS 7 as android will not be redesigned until key lime pie next June or next November (will love similar, but improved to 4.2)
Decide on that. Now all those iOS 7 new features are already on android nexus, and even more. Apple is now behind the curve.

Okay, prices, nexus stuff is much cheaper, for a better product, but you will have bought apps on apple and will have to re buy.

Leading from that, is there any apps you will miss, or any apps you want fro. Android that are not on iOS. That is a factor.

Do you like customisability? Just pick android if you say yes. Myself I like the option but I choose googles way, I agree with it.

Do you use apple other stuff or Google products more? Another factor.

Do you like power. Nexus is more powerful.

If you answered towards Google in all of them or majority choose android. I myself made the switch in 2011 and love it, on a n4 now.

So myself I would wait, I waited to upgrade from sgs3 to galaxy nexus, and waited for the nexus 4 for 2 months, mind you I didn't have much money.
Also if you are in the US you could choose a htc one or sgs4 that has GED (Google edition, recently they have released version onto Google play website version to buy with stock android on). That is also another option, if you like options just choose android. They will receive updates just after nexus apparently.
So that is it :)

Gee. One simple innocent post and I got every one just criticizing me for posting a simple thread. Its ok though. I made my decision, no thanks to most of you....

You could have probably written it better...no one here owes you anything and you can do your own research.

The HTC One and Samsung GS4 are fantastic phones. I really disliked TouchWiz, so I went with the HTC. The camera quality is just fine for me, but it isn't as good as my iPhone 4S. The battery life compared to my iPhone 4S when it was NEW isn't that great, but shortly after my 1 year warranty ran out, something happened and my battery life took a dump. I blame iOS 6.1.x.

I will point out that Gorilla Glass is not as strong as folks claim. I've had two different iPhones over the last 4 years, and never scratched the screen. Within 2 weeks of getting my HTC One, I had two minor scratches. I'm going to be applying a screen protector ASAP.

Anyway, I'm very happy with switching. And if I need my iOS fix, I'll just fiddle with my iPad mini.

Glass is made from sand so sand will scratch it no matter what.

Why not? I use a Mophie battery case and it works fine. I suppose that it does have the disadvantage that it makes the phone slightly wider, and rather taller and thicker, but honestly I do not notice (which is why I wish Apple would make an iPhone with a larger screen).
