I took mine to work yesterday as I've had several people ask to see it. The ones that Checked it out were surprised by the speed and the fact I already have my work email and Citrix client setup so I can easily access my desktop from anywhere. I don't own a laptop, so this is very handy for work as my iPhone is simply to small for me to work quickly on the Citrix client or my VPN to my home computer.

Sure their were those that said it's just a toy etc... To them I just agreed and said yep, and it's a hellva lotta fun. Not the first gadget I have ever purchased that others don't see the need for and frankly don't care what they think, if I enjoy it, that's all that matters. Have fun :)

Since the iPad isn't a necessity like a phone or laptop, people don't see it as a cool thing, but instead they kinda snicker at the person. Anyone else experience this?
I see the iphone this way. Gimmicky phones are actually ridiculously over the top dorky, much like wearing two calculator watches would be, but they make the company money so people get tricked into thinking they're cool. The same is true with computers in general. I wouldn't say it's pretentious exactly, the way that the average person has morphed into Comic Book Guy in the past decade, but there is a strong odor of clueless arrogance.
