Looks nice. A much needed addition. The leaked notification center is also a much needed addition. WP is getting complete bit by bit.
Now we need more of the apps.
It really is looking like a more viable option and by next year I for see a high Lumia in my big excited hands: D
MS needs to go on a massive marketing blitz as well. Our malls and shops are littered with galaxy ads and billboards, but no other company is present. Plus all carriers carry all the popular galaxy phones. Time for them to replicate the game.
Plenty of ads all over the place in my country.
I haven't seen any in Toronto, the biggest city in Canada. We are an iPhone and galaxy hood.
New Zealand gets plenty of ads of the 1020. It is advertised a lot in news papers or local websites. We don't have many galaxy ads but we do have iPhone ads.
Hello Windows Phone! The year 2011 welcomes you!

Not even close to Google Now. Even the third party app like Cymen blows Cortana away.
Ikr? They don't want an OS that might be in certain respects better then their favourite OS lol.Hey, better late than never! I'm happy it is showing up and look forward to using it. If it is anything like Cortana from Halo (sounds and graphical interface) it will be the best looking and sounding assistant out. Time will tell how useful it is, but I am loving what I am seeing so far.

Bold statement to compare Google Now to software that hasn't even been released yet. Sounds like some people are a bit nervous that Cortana may actually be very good.

Looks alright .... As long as it works is the main thing.
I still think they need to sort out
1) notification centre
2) broken live tiles and apps that refuse to update (Xbox video & music never gets artwork / artist wallpapers for me)
3) unified email system. Seriously I don't want to have 4 separate tiles.
4) text sizing is off. Font sizing can be set to tiny in system and certain apps still show bigger fonts even stock apps like nokia music
5) folder implementation is horrible currently
6) grid view for application drawer
7) FAVORITES for Contacts
8) separate music and video applications. (Preference thing)
9) play nice with Google and get some decent stock YouTube apps on the phone etc..
10) pay developers of major third party apps to keep the app up to date with iOS & android versions. Encourage more developers to put apps in the store.
Seriously all of those basic things are needed so much more than a personal assistant IMHO.

And google now is not as amazing as everyone makes it out to be. In my multiple tries in the past and nowadays on-going interaction with it, it is nothing magical so far.
All cortana needs to be is a simple hands-free "cortana, i want this - ok, you got it" type of system. Some of us don't want our smartphones trying to bombard us with stuff and failing on it many times.
Actually, the implementation of Google Now on the Moto X is pretty good. In fact, an update for the Moto X's Active Listening just added a "What's up" activation phrase that will let you know what notifications you have and read them out to you. No need to look at or even touch your phone. Driving mode is also very similar to how the Lumia's work as well. Incoming calls, emails and text are automatically read out to you if the phone knows you are driving.
I agree with most of these but you can merge all your email accounts into a unified inbox. I have three merged into one.
That's been available for years. You can join any email accounts into a unified inbox.
